Today I suggest updating the world generation to bring back continents in Minecraft, maybe in 1.19? making the oceans larger and separating landmasses. I spent a ton of time on it, and I'm not really happy about it, but hopefully it'll do okay.

I've thought about this any time I started up a new multiplayer server. All the seeds are just very boring and samey compared to what they used to be. We used to look at a few and decide which continents looked like home. Now it doesn't matter, the biome you're looking for is somewhere in the infinite plane of biomes. I understand there's more biomes now that are important to core gameplay (certain resources and mobs you might need) I would really like mobile base sailboats like archimedes ships from back in the day, but that will never happen. Second to that I still want larger boats that go faster so bigger oceans are viable because they are cramped. Maybe with some storage too.. Your climate based continents you mentioned could help too, you'd know there's a biome you're looking for because of the temperature. Anyway, class video, you explain your points quite well.

I've got no idea why Notch sounds so weird in the video, maybe It's just me, also, there may be some fallacies in the context part of the video, the script is quite old and I wanted to get the video out of development hell. I agree with what you said in the video, the oceans now do have the problems you say and I hope Mojang could improve them, plus I also miss the world customization option and great video as usual
