As a Forza guy, coming back after the new Digital Foundry's video of Forza Motorsport , this GT7 is a marvel.
  • Want to make a Correction, all PS5 GT7 car models are actually higher quality than what is showcased in GT-Sport, the caveat being that these higher polygon assets were actually authored during development of GT-Sport but were much too detailed to be used in PS4/Pro generation, according to the creator himself, the choice was made so that they would be better prepared for transitioning to more powerful next generation hardware in a more timely manner They chose to go this route, which is heavily bolstered by manufacturer provided high fidelity CAD data, from the prior learnings of trying to transition into the HD era from the PS2 assets and avoid how excruciatingly long that endeavour took to go from 4 to 5, even though technically GT4 did support 1080i with the right cables. Point being these aren't dressed up GT-Sport cars, these cars were authored and stored for use for future hardware that is capable of it from inception, & GT7 is starting to showcase that forward thinking planning, again this is according to Kaz's interviews himself

I’ve been playing GT7 for around 6 hours now. I’m telling you this is a therapeutic experience I’m not even joking. It’s amazing the amount of hard work and attention to detail and love put into this. Thank you Yamauchi and all people that delivered this unbelievable game.

I appreciate the online-only call out. I have a PS5 but I live in a rural area with crappy internet which really hinders my ability to reliably play anything online, and I feel seen. Thanks, John!

So early that the comments are so peacefull.

Yep the load times are a game changer. We haven't had fast loading into races since GT4 really. Being able to pop back into a license test within 3 seconds, or go customize a car real quick and then jump back into a race within seconds. Such a massive change

I still boot up GT4 and GT6 sometimes to drive old cars that aren't included in modern games. It's a shame that GT7 likely won't have the same longevity because of the always online DRM.

As a Forza dude 1-7. I’ve officially jumped ship!

I remember having the original GT with my dad and uncles taking turns on the wheel. At the time it was so realistic haha

I remember buying the first Hooked on Classics album when I was a kid. I recorded it from record to cassette tape and listened to it over and over again. It was a pleasant, nostalgic surprise to hear it play over the first race in this game.

I never was too demanding when it comes to graphics and fidelity, so for me by far the load times have the most impact. It feels so natural but also strange at the same time to just go from on thing to the next so effortlessly. I’m enjoying GT7 so much more than I initially thought I would.

Gran Turismo literally inspired me into a petrolhead, it was always eye popping since PS2, and I mean beyond the visual aspect, I loved as a child, and I was owner to the biggest community of Gran Turismo on Orkut, and everyday people saying how much they loved spending time with the games, I hope that this game make new car lovers and allow we who grew with it to make new pure fun memories.. Nowdays is hard to really get hyped to something without a foot back, but my inner child is screaming its lungs out to this game simply not suck
  • Thank you for talking about the DRM, it's so annoying to have this kind of things in a console game now.
  • @soruyo210
Really really bummed about the online only. Yes I get it most already have internet but you can still run into random internet shut downs. It’s worse for a racing game where all your current race progress would be gone. Also defeats the purpose of being about to pause a race mid game onto rest mode, you’ll be forced to login back in and restart the race.

If like GT Sport, you can’t access the single player campaign when offline….it’s a deal breaker for me. 👎
  • @mxthunder2
as a huge retro gamer, i hate the fact that its online only.
  • @ActionButton
i preordered the Digital Deluxe. now i'm prewatching the Digital Foundry. let me know if you need help on a third video breaking down the the cornucopious sweet jazz fusion pieces in the soundtrack
  • @fgcgamer
man why online only, do they want people to not buy it
