Base PS4 is holding up alot better towards the end of it's life than the PS3 did.
-
Damn being able to compare the exact same save through both platforms not only makes the comparison super clean but also makes your guys jobs 100x easier! Great feature
-
The back and forth gameplay between PS5 and PS4 Pro was so satisfying to watch. This video is awesome, thanks for your work!

It's impressive that the old consoles still keep up that good (despite loading times) by utilizing clever rendering tricks. We will see what the new generation can manage in the future with such tricks or even better ones ...
-
The loading of PS5 is just insane. We are looking at 40 to 50 times the difference in loading speed when directly compared. Not even 1 second compared to 40 plus seconds on the HDD consoles!

Man, the PS4 version being a great experience is what makes this such a great game. Personally PS4 is what I have and knowing it's good time with great graphics and performance is such a nice peace of mind, at least compared to many other cross gen titles I've been seeing recently.

Man I remember going from the N64 to the ps2 to the 360 now that was a huge generational leap in technology I'll never forget.
-
This was the BEST comparison. Switching between the to clips is waaaaay better and easier to tell the difference than she by side. I wish you could do this on other comparison videos.
-
Polyphony has made the right calls for every version and all look awesome to me!
-
Have to say, this was the most understandable of all the DF videos I've seen down the years - swapping between the same footage from different consoles really massively helped show the differences, which I often struggle to see/notice. Good work, lads!

As a fellow car guy, I can appreciate that John has been using some really cool retro cars for his GT7 thumbnails like the F40 and now the FD rx-7. I share your love for the classics too, john!

When talking about technology, there's a concept called "the killer app". Basically, it's that piece of software that makes buying hardware worthwhile. Even 2 years after its release, the PS5 still doesn't have that killer app. It has games and it has exclusives, but they are still being developed for the PS4. The PS5 has such a small install base, developers aren't making games that utilize the PS5's hardware. Instead, they are developing for the PS4 and porting to the PS5.

I was surprised by alix defending the defending the PS5 dips vs the PS4 versions in the rainy areas. He says that they're really low res effects on PS4 and that keeps the fps up over PS5 basically. That's kind of a poor excuse because PS5 is significantly more powerful than those PS4 systems, so really it should be able to handle it, and if it isn't maybe they're pushing it too far.

Loving the game so far. Some awesomely beautiful moments to be had. Extremely polished and great fun!
-
the in motion comparison of the foliage and stuff between versions was really cool 👍 love that
-
They did a great job making sure each console was optimized and pushed as far as it could, even the PS4. I don't think anyone that doesn't have a PS5 will be disappointed with the version they're playing on

My takeaway from this is the sheer speed of that SSD and what’s possible when it’s utilised…. 0.9 seconds 🤪

The loading times on PS5 are absolutely stunning. Genuinely its like the whole game is always loaded for you. Amazing architecture of the PS5

I remember when going from 1 generation to the other was a pretty significant jump but from PS4 to PS5 if these guys don't point out the differences I wouldn't even notice it.

Great video guys. The flicking back and forth between systems was awesome. I'm enjoying it on PS5. The motion blurs sick and load times make it a breeze to play. But glad to know the guys on PS4 are still getting a good deal. Good job Sony.
