This is the most brilliant comparison I have seen of GT7 with any other more serious Simulators....Most people would just concentrate on which game is doing things more realistically and then give the final verdict but you actually explained what exactly both games are doing differently and why both are still great for what they are trying to offer

As a lifelong gran turismo fan, and someone who can’t really afford to get into more serious sim racing, I appreciate this comparison. It’s nice to know the techniques I’m developing in gt7 aren’t trash too. Your point about sportsman and driver rankings is one I share, I’ve had friends get into gt7 and tell me it’s trash because everyone is a noob, and I’ve tried to explain that, once you move up, the competition is quite good and much more respectful.
  • @Barry.R
Great comparison and no one has done a review this detailed. Excited to see future GT7 content and streams

Great video. As a fair beginner in GT7, I want to improve and learn more but find there is a lot of 'snobbyness' around certain sims, especially from people who moved away from GT7 and now think it's somehow beneath them. I'm glad that you highlighted that you can improve and find good racing in any game.
  • seeing the response in discord where people where shaming you for playing this was interesting, if only they trusted your decisions and weren't so touchy about what choices you make. Keep up the good work and keep making great content.

The thing between these two, in my opinion, is that iRacing offers top notch physics, while not dominating in terms of content or graphics. And what GT offers, is a good enough physics model, while having a large amount and variety of cars, from commuters, crazy concept cars, GT4,3,2,1 cars and so on. As well as it's beautiful graphics and a comprehensive weather system, and other features (photo mode, livery editor, etc). This is why I am sticking to GT, not to mention it's a one-time purchase for a title. Then again, I'm just a casual driver (B driver rating in GT), and iRacing wouldn't be very suitable for me. No hate on iRacing though, it's equally good on some aspects ! 😅
  • I recently just got iRacing after competing online in gt7. It made my iRacing experience a lot more enjoyable. IRacing felt like gt7 but with a much stronger connection to the car and the ability to predict oversteer and when brakes lock. It also feels as if u approach a corner iRacing u have a lot more ways to approach a corner fast, but in gran tourismo there’s only one optimal way to go through a corner fast
  • @bobbyDD
i got gt7 for ps5 and i had no clue about the simracing community. started racing online and within a 3 months i had a t300 and loadcells and had gotten gold in all of the licenses. good thing i already had a gaming pc or else this hobby would’ve put me into debt because now a little less than a year later, I have a full simagic/heusinkveld/next level racing setup😆 point is: I would’ve never gotten into sim racing or cars in general if not for GT. it was simultaneously the worst and best purchase ive made LOL
  • @Phantom096
Problem I have with IRacing is you have a monthly payment. Even if you spend some money in GT7 It is probably cheaper. VR2 has made screens obsolete for me. It is unbelievable. it’s like you are inside every car.
  • @neonix01
The quick in-and-out of laps on GT7 makes it the winner for me. I've played tons of ACC and other sims on PC, and it just takes way too long to get something good going online. Too much tweaking, organizing, and stuff like that. GT7 is plug-n-play and it takes seconds to get into a good race.

I'm a teacher (arts). You are an excellent teacher, with a comprehensive understanding of your subject, the ability to see the tiniest details but also have a great and fair-minded overview perspective, and the language to articulate your understanding that is easily digestible. I've been looking for someone online to give a comprehensive review of the difference in physics between real racing and sim/semi-sim (I play GT7), and you illuminated those differences so well that I believe I can imagine what it is actually like to race IRL much better than before. Well done, mate. I'm sure your students are very fortunate to have your guidance.

I have tried almost every simulator out there, and my favorite racing game nowadays is GT7. The level of detail in the game and the PSVR2 give it an incredible immersion. A lot of people get hung up on what’s the best simulator, many say iracing is the best. Here is my problem, I’m a regular guy that doesn’t have access to racing cars, I just drive normal cars and I occasionally go to track days. For that reason GT7 is a better simulator for me as it has normal street cars, which you can’t find in iracing. You can certainly find real life physics in GT7, and things that I have learned in the game I have been able to apply IRL. If your goal is to become a race car driver and you are fortunate enough that this can be a realistic dream in your life, iracing should be your best bet. If you’re a regular guy wanting to improve his driving skills, GT7 is an excellent option.
  • @theojk
Thanks for the analysis. Very impressive stuff. As a GT7 offline campaign mode player on PSVR2, I find it very curious that pro sim players believe GT7 is less forgiving than in iracing and real life. You’d think it would be the opposite, as gt7 is commonly badged as being “arcadey” as opposed to the more puritan like simulators such as iracing and AC.
  • @ertugrulbae46
With PSVR2..GT7 literally shits on the other sims It's now compatible with 120fps...graphics are still by far the best. And you have normal road cars. Oh and the lobbies are actually populated. Lot more content. It's a no brainer at this point.
  • @MrFTmedia
GT7 telemetry is available through UDP ports, software and mobile apps are also available. Perhaps you could use this to your advantage going forward.
  • @DrKage-vz5jt
Fantastic video Suellio! Great job of breaking down both GT7 & iRacing! Keep up the great work!
  • @brendandrives
Easily the best video I’ve watched comparing the 2 games!
  • @LyonPercival
Nice and educated review - not very opinionated and entertainment-focused... purely focused on giving an objective and realistic review, and that on its own is entertainment for such video types(reviews) Good job!
  • @Cal3000
One thing to note, the higher rank you are in GT, the less ghosting there is. So if you were in B or A DR and S SR, there will be no ghosting unless a penalty is applied. I'm also interested in the braking techniques because it seems GT7 and ACC match while iRacing takes a completely different approach.
