1986 Gravely 8123G, inspecting the damage part 1.

Merry Christmas to you too. Here in Ontario we are having mild weather as well.

I took the balance gears out of my K301 and it ran fine until the loose governor arm let it over rev. I had to use a sieve to find all the rod, which disintegrated more than it broke. I had the crank turned down .010 and put in a .010 over rod, and it seems to run well- if I can solve some carburetor issues. Of course, once I say something that hints at mechanical competence, the machine bites me, literally! Its 50 inch mower deck got me for 19 stitches in torn muscle and flesh, but thankfully, no extremities!

Bummer if the pto is still good repair/replace the engine.
