Here I remove the engine from the 8123-G for rebuild.
thankfully I didn't drop the drive gear or key in the transmission! with the engine off, we can also inspect the condition of the pto clutch.

    I'm looking at a 16G with a stuck PTO clutch, and this was very helpful on seeing the in-place observation of the clearance. I really don't wanna have to pull the engine, but I'm hoping that with over-filling the oil, blocking the PTO shaft extension against the frame, and bumping the starter, breaks it free, and then an adjustment cures the sticking. Won't know condition of the clutch lining in there, but it beats splitting the case of the trans, and getting the PTO clutch rebuilt. Good job.

    Are you rebuilding the engine yourself or sending it to a machine shop?
