  • My son, being almost 2 years old, enjoys watching this stuff. He likes to help me work on my tractor. He's definitely going to build things when he gets bigger, I can tell. Great build, too.

I legit started making a Murray race mower after watching the John Deere video, it's got a 24 vtwin in it and eventually I'll put a peerless 820 in it,just wanna say thank you for continuing this series and inspireing me

After seeing this Ive got the itch now😅. I have a 48" cut Lawn Machine with a 16.5 hp engine that i bought 10 yrs ago sitting in my garage. I traded a wore out 12hp murry and 100 bucks for the Lawn Machine. It was to big for my yard, and i spent more time backing up and going in circles, just trying to mow my lawn. I figured out it was quicker to cut it with the push mower, so i parked the rider. All it needs is a hot battery and a fresh tank of gas. I took a few laps around the neighborhood on it two years ago. Im 60yrs old now. I may not lower it, but my old ass is going to have some fun! Thanks, guys, for the motivational video!

This is an awesome project, & I just happen to have at least 4 junk riding mowers to experiment with! Very cool!

my dad built this exact mower into a race mower in the early 2000s he put a gas pedal and bulit a cool trailer with a seat for us kids! it was a great memories from my childhood riding on it with him and watching him pop wheelies. so cool!

I love old, used vehicles of all kinds with dents and signs of wear, but technically in new condition. Visually, the paintwork should be completely removed with a metal stain and the bare metal protected from corrosion with a transparent coat of paint. All dents or dings should remain, which indicates that it is a racing mower that has already fought many battles. Then it should get some really cool and rare vintage stickers, which are stuck on before the protective paint is applied, so that it is protected for a very long time afterwards. The headlight lenses should have a yellow tint and as far as the tires are concerned, Firestone tires with a white label should be mounted on drop-center rims. ! The Murray would then appear on many online portals and show how sexy it is to forego paintwork and optical new condition, but invest in invisible technology!

Nice! Mine was a lowered & chopped Rhino lined mid 90s MTD mower with a Briggs opposed twin I/C 20hp. I had ribbed golf cart meaty slicks on the back & red rims & whitewall tire paint. "there's a pic on my page" It was running a comet 40 series cvt to stock belt speed changer then rear end via a vertical jackshaft & pilowblock berrings & a u shaped pice of heavy sheet metal bolted to the frame under the dash. The battery was mounted in board the frame just behind the right footboard & I used its old tierod ball pices as chargeing lugs sticking out the side to clamp Frankenstein cables on😁. Should of ran a belt from jackshaft to smaller pulley on rear end derectley & got rid of the other stuff as it did'nt go very fast. The 20 hp would of been Wild with headers! "also on an old dunecycle or sand buggy too"✌👍

You guys are artists. Loved the original John Deere build, super cool to see how organized your process is for making all the cosmetic choices .
  • i have almost the exact same model but i went the exact opposite direction and made it a mud mower, this thing is bad ass for sure.
  • @AdamT-u8k
Bout to buy a lawnmower for this one!
  • You guys certainly put some serious thought into that, thanks for sharing your videos.
  • I used to have one like that. I liked the looks of it. I like the way you designed it and built it. It looks like a racs car. I love it.
  • @FooDerr
This is sick! Planning to get a Craftsman GT and turn it into something like this! You should keep the single broken running light, gives it character.
  • @Kelly-df6op
Can't wait to see the next video. I have the same model Murray and I'm going to build one similar. I'm putting a 19.5 opposed twin Briggs on it..
  • I've been thinking about doing something like this to one of my mowers and this video was very helpful and gave me a lot of ideas.
  • @RandomGreymane
I have almost the exact same model Murray. I had problems years ago with the 12hp so I swapped in an 18hp OHC and a metal deck idler. She’s been working great for years but starting to fray a bit. Thinking of making her a racer at some point.

Love the teamwork. Fr the definition of teamwork makes the dream work❤
  • Hey guys just was thinking instead of welding on the stock non adjusting lawnmower spindles why not weld on a set of adjustable go-kart racing spindles so you can adjust camber and caster and so your not stuck with one setup or possibly stuck with a setup that makes you slow or so your not stuck with one that makes it difficult to handle just throwing some improvement ideas out there for you but it is a really cool project and know I want to build one keep up the good work
  • @anschuelke
You guys should add a hole in the now top of the transaxle case and pump it full of grease, the will live alot longer that way
