For the past fifteen years, versions of Roblox from 2006 have been lost media. A group by the name of Roblox Client Search is started in 2017 in an attempt to find these pieces of lost media.

In this video, I dive into the world of old roblox lost media, why these Roblox versions from 2006 are lost, and why roblox history is at stake of being lost forever.

Wait, my dad knowns how to fix old hard drives, but i live in ecuador and its very far away
  • @peacefulvozd
I sold my old computer that contained a hard drive that had many roblox clients (pretty sure it had very old ones), i wasn't aware of how important those clients would be until now. I'm never selling old pc's again without checking their data to see if there is something important

This is honestly sad to think about. Roblox history being gone with no back up is unfortunate. I never played Roblox in 2006 so I hope a miracle happens
  • The intenseness when that guy tried transferring a 2006 client and the hardrive failed

Something about searching and finding data from the early internet is immensely comforting yet also incredibly LIMINAL

Really enjoyed working on this video with ya pal, it came out good.

my dad's friend's son played roblox back in 2006 and i'll see if they still have the hard drive, but i think it's highly unlikely

I will literally pray to god that a 2006 version is found, i would love to play with it

i may have found a few old clients from late 2007/early 2008. my cousin played roblox during late 2007, and still had a ton of his old hard drives from then. eventually when i see him again, i may be able to find some old clients.

we almost found it? damn, looks like my old roblox phase is coming back after almost 3 years

I love how fans in every community are better at archiving history than the company does. I hope they get the clients they’re hunting for

My current account that I still use was created in January of 2009 and I've had previous accounts a little before that, it's already crazy to see how much different Roblox is now from then, let alone how crazy it would be to see 2006 to now.

I guess David Baszucki didn't keep old versions because if they didn't have that much money to invest in servers back then, storing older versions would just be a waste of space for them, but why would he say it would be too complex for them to deploy the clients when they are a pretty huge company and could deploy a specific server for the clients to stay on as an archive.

one of the greatest ones so far, keep up the good work!

I joined sometime between 2009-2011. I don't really play that much anymore, but I do remember what the site looked like back then and having a lot of fun with it. We have none of the hard drives from that time as the computers that my family owned were either sold or thrown away, so any versions that we had are long gone.

This is a very good video man!! I honestly think that this version will never be found (big sad..) but i have high hopes that a miracle could happen so we can preserve old roblox history Once and for All!

There could be one on a third party website- like pirate sites. It's totally possible somebody put a download to it to share the game.
