Very nicely put pretty much everything in a nutshell! This will be my go to when I need to explain next time :) P.S. Small detail, but in Polar Wind snippet there's Big Jim instead of minomus & Libris (aka Skyscape) in track title text. Btw, Polar Wind is probably my own favourite from my tracker era, just has to be listened with correct player/tracker (modplug) to make all the loops and tricks work right. Fun fact, I even met the collab guy, twice, despite him living in Australia. Collabing and chatting with people on the other side of world wasn't that common yet, let alone actually meeting them later.
  • I've actually contacted Soft Knee regarding licensing inquiries to use the song LEGALLY. Super cool people, and I look forward to using "Wind of Fjords" in a future project!
  • Personally thanking you for making this video. Got myself a lot of misinformation in the past about the song and I might have also spread them through my old cringy comments, which I'm really ashamed of.

hearing people mention build to survive the zombies makes me so happy cause it feels like that game was either really niche or just forgotten. sometimes it feels like i’m the only one who remembers it
  • @Untitled1549
"wind of fjords" "telamon's sword" "telamon's sword fights on the heights" wow.... thats cool
  • thanks so much for making this video, i heard it before in VH2 years ago and I was geniously curious where this song came from

loved the video, into music production myself. thought I'd just point out 2 mistakes i noticed. neither MIDI nor DAW are usually said as their individual letters. the majority pronounce them as "Mid E" for MIDI and DAW is pronounced like paw but with a D. Thank you ^^
  • I remembered that in one video of winds of fjords theme, there was a link to a theme of a sonic game, I don’t exactly remember the sonic theme music :(

I know i'm late but I am glad there are people like you making videos like these. I know I was very young when this song or music came out and I am glad to know who made it. It give me that feeling of nostalgia. You want to hold on to the past and all of its memories but then life goes on and it can be scary. And also the song has this type of adventurous mysterious and calm feeling. That make me think i'm in the middle of a storm flying away. Thats how I feel about this song.

6:56 sample 11 sounds eerily familir to a sample used in sonic rush but this one has a more square wave sound in it.
  • @Sonictrainkid
Sample 4 at 6:34 comes from the Roland D-50 patch named “Digital Native Dance”
