The preacher handed the blood stained Bible to the hooker and asked "Can't you see the promise land?" Then the hooker must've straightened up her life and taught her son the ways of the good book. He grew up to be a preacher and told the story.

Ok so listened to this song many many times on our local country station years ago. Every time it brings tears to my eyes. You’re right the preacher gave his Bible to the hooker as he passed away. She read that bible to the now preacher. GOD IS AMAZING YALL

Interesting career very successful country musician. God touched him and he wanted to start doing gospel. The record industry wouldn't allow it under contract. When his contract expired Randy dropped a few gospel cds that include some great heart felt music. This is only one of them. I encourage you to dive in if not on this channel for your own blessings. I hope y’all get it, most people don’t the first time they listen to it….the hooker had unfinished business here on earth and so it wasn’t her time but u will learn at the end what her purpose was, her son became a preacher and he used the Bible that the preacher that died put into his mama’s (hooker) hands
