Craig lost his son in a tubing accident a few years ago and he wrote this song about his son. He sings it at the Grand Old Opry and that video is very touching.

He became an emergency medical technician at age 18. He served on active duty for nine and a half years in the US Army as a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions and remained in the reserves for another six and a half years. He wrote this for himself to help with the loss of his son. Fellow artists and celebrities, from Luke Combs and Bret Michaels to Ellen DeGeneres and Carson Daly, got onboard and “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost” topped not only the iTunes Country chart, but the all-genre roster as well. I see the messages from all the families, and people who have lost children, who talk about how this song has reignited their faith and their love for humanity. That’s a powerful thing.”

His face in the last scene kills me every time. You can feel that he feels his loss so strongly.

Watching the live version of this is even more emotional. He swore he would never sing it again but his friends talked him into releasing it because of how much it could help others going through a loss like he did. Craig Morgan has an awesome story and well worth researching it. Even if you do not react to it, I highly recommend watching the live version.

Whenever i hear this song, it reminds me that we have a word for almost every person who loses a loved one, orphan, widow, etc. But there is no word when a parent loses a child. 😢

I lost my son a year and a half ago. I can't believe the spiral it has sent me in. I've always took pride in how strong I was. But not no more . I'm beaten I have no happiness no control of my mind. Wondering was he calling for me to help him. The only thing I haven't lost is my faith. But I have no fight left inme. Life makes no sense. You can see the pain on his face from losing his son but having the faith that he’ll see him again.

I lost my Son on 8/5/23 in a motorcycle accident Forever 28 his Birthday is 11/22 he left behind a 4yr old Son and a 7mo old daughter. This is one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard. Craig Morgan is a country music legend. This is just amazing storytelling and you can feel the emotion he sings with. I get chills every time listening to this.

That song makes me cry every time especially that ending! The power in his voice makes you feel his pain, but it also raises your hair to God's power to heal

This is a beautiful song he sang it once, and then said he was never going to be able to sing it again, but he did it. He lost his son in a drowning! Another great song with his is almost home it makes me cry every time

In early 2022 my daughter and her husband decided they wanted to have another baby. They found out in April that she was pregnant and we were so excited. 3 months later we found out she had stage 4 abdominal cancer. We ended up losing my granddaughter and then my daughter on Jan 6 2023. If is wasn't for my sons and my grandson(her son) I would not care what happened to me. I have had a hard time with God but I found this song a few days ago and this is all I listen to now. Every thing he says in this song about getting motivated to do anything I can relate to. Maybe it will help but I guess only time will tell.

This song never fails to make me cry. As someone around his son’s age it truly makes me think about life. We always think our grandparents, then parents, then us, and then our children will leave this earth to go Home with God in that order, but sometimes God has different plants. I absolutely love Craig Morgan. I had the honor to see him live in Kuwait when I was deployed in 2010. He was amazing. I love this song. I sobbed the first time I heard it. Thank you for reacting to it.

He did not mention fasting. He lost his 19 year old son in a tubing accident on Kentucky Lake. He did not perform for a long time after that until he came out with this heart wrenching song.

I'm a father of five I have four boys and one daughter. And It would absolutely kill me if one of them was to die. This song was amazing thank you for sharing this.❤❤❤
