Detox cabbage soup is an easy way to boost of immunity, nutriment hydration when you are feeling down the weather and helps shed weight. This soup is an easy way to give your body a little love. Just a few simple ingredients. Ready in 20 minutes. You can add chicken or any broth you prefer. I just wanted to make something simple and quick.
I understand eating large amounts of these vegetables will cause more bloating or even gas. Some people find that eating small amounts and increasing the amount slowly over time may help reduce the amount of gas.
You may just have this once a day as lunch or dinner.

Cabbage: is a sulfur-rich, cruciferous veggie that increases the production of antioxidant and detoxification enzymes, and stimulates the production of glutathione for liver cleansing, meaning that it helps your liver break down toxins so they can be more easily expelled It also has diuretic properties help rid your body of excess liquid, carrying toxins along with it.

Celery: has been shown in research to improve liver function, which can increase your body’s own detox capacities long term. It also helps rebuild HCL (hydrochloric acid) in your gut, which is crucial for fully digesting your food and absorbing important nutrients. It is a mild diuretic for kidneys to help excrete toxins. It helps reduce inflammation in the body. It also has a calming effect on the nervous system.

Spinach: is also an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate as well as being a good source of manganese, magnesium, iron and vitamin B2. Vitamin K is important for maintaining bone health and it is difficult to find vegetables richer in vitamin K than spinach.

This soup was delicious! Since I have to watch my sodium intake, I eliminated the 1 tsp of salt and used low sodium vegetable broth. The regular vegetable broth had 450 mg of sodium (a whopping 2250 mg of sodium for 5 cups). The crushed red peppers gave it that extra pizazz. Thanks for the recipe.

I tried the "Lose 10 lbs in one week" cabbage soup three days ago, and I tried this one just now. Both of them excellent. I'm a Brown Girl fan already !

  • Found this recipe last night. Made it this morning first thing. It is DELICIOUS! Actually had a cabbage left over from soup I made last week. I didn’t care for it too much. This soup is fantastic. Ginger is what makes it better than any other cabbage soup I’ve ever made.

And no, you never want to do something else when your cat is having a conversation with you. You'll never hear the end of it. The recipe looks lovely, I will be making it in the morning.
  • Adding a chopped carrot and chopped tomatoes makes this even more yummy. I’ve been eating this, and nothing else, for 5 days and have lost 5 lbs so well pleased. I don’t believe the wild claims seen elsewhere that you can lose 15 lbs in a week.
  • I just made this and I am eating it right now!!! So easy, quick and delicious!!! I used ground ginger because I didn't have fresh ginger. I put one sliced carrot in it for some color. Soooooo yummy! Thank you for this recipe!!!
