The recipe is in the description in case anyone wants to destroy their kitchen for a snack
  • @yzzazz
you know that fridge started sweating when he got the onion and buttermilk out

I once had some guys come from Australia for work, so of course I took them to the outback. I said "do you want a bloomin onion?" and they said "What the fuck is a bloomin onion?". Good guys
  • I waited for years to hear a chef say: "Don't bother." Love it !

Kudos on keeping it real and telling us it is more realistic to order this instead of making it. Some things are just to much mess and trouble. There are enough great recipes to make at home without "destroying your kitchen" for a snack.
  • Love that he admitted it wasn’t easy and he would rather order it love that honesty I know I could trust him and his recipes unlike some TikTokers who make horrible recipes eat them and lie they’re good

We love blooming onion at my house but didn't appreciate the labor-intensive recipe, so I make onion petals. It saves so much by not having to treat the onion like an octopus that you're trying to keep from falling apart. I cut the onion the same but cut the core part that holds it together. This makes nice large sized onion petals.

As a person that works at outback steakhouse that's the original way...we use a onion press now i guess but there is a 2006 recipe hanging up with that same cut

I think you should do a whole series of videos with that same theme ! 👇 “ it’s ok to cook this at home, but better to order it out ! “

I feel that "I'm never making that again" on a deep level. I feel that way with my chicken katsu sometimes, (same kidn of deal, get the chicken into shape, 3 step breading process and frying) and yet I keep going back to it. So good it's worth it some days. 😂

I say the same thing every time I make catfish nuggets. So delicious. An absolute mess 😂

Use half regular flour half rice flour and you'll get a very crisp light batter

"Cut the bottom " points to the top side of onion "And a little of the top " cuts the literal root of the onion.
  • I live in the middle of nowhere so I will have to make this to enjoy the experience of the blooming onion so thank you for the recipe 🤤😋
  • I just started following and you have decimated that fridge unnecessarily, sir.

Follow that recipe, but onion rings instead. Keep the flavor but remove the mess and most of the difficulty

It's funny how the easiest sh^t to cook at a restaurant tends to be messy, annoying, and possibly dangerous to cook at home.
