What a sad day when they were gone and I always loved getting my stuff there because of the way they treated their customers and their Employees.; There was a Big Ames in Boyertown and it was a beautiful store.

I was an employee of Ames Store 78 in Alden,NY as a night owl associate from 1988 to 1995. The store is a Save A Lot food store now.

2:04 Ames had a snack bar? I could see what looks like a popcorn machine on the shelf behind the employee. That same employee that was handing the customer a hotdog. I heard some Zayre stores had snack bars and when they became Ames they still used the snack bar but that was only in a very few locations

we had 4 ames stores in an 8 mile span. none of them were a success.
