Anyone else notice he didnt want to leave the cruise ? 😅 glad you loved your cruise always good tp watch someone having fun 😊

So what I'm getting is that you're an introvert, and you liked being by yourself, but you also kinda wanted someone to talk to, every now and then. Sounds like me. Lol. Really good videos
  • @seebunlim
As an introvert I would find it SO uncomfortable having meals with strangers. I’ve always admired people who can easily do so! Hope you go on more cruises! Your videos are great to watch. ❤

My very first cruise was on Feb 20, 2-25. I did a 10 day trip to the Eastern Carribean aboard the NCL Getaway also staying in a SOLO cabin . I thought overall the process was very nice . The staff friendly accommodating when needed and professional.

Time to settle your bill before you get off the boat. Hee hee hee hee 😁😁😁😁

Hi Ben! Been following your NCL Getaway videos from start to finish. Great job. Really helpful towards my June solo cruise on that ship. I can relate to that odd last dinner's experience from a few previous solo cruises. Not sure if people feel compelled to entertain you whenever they see you are alone (and sad, they presume). "No comprendo" would be a great excuse, but people will still go to unexpected lengths to try and communicate with you (or annoy you, for that matter). I used to try and mingle with other solo cruisers in the past, but as I grow older I slide more and more into the "I just want to be alone" thing. 😅😅😅

Thank you so much for clarifying how luggage is dealt with, and especially that passengers can handle their own baggage if that's what they prefer! I hate enforced baggage service with a passion (Having always preferred rucksacks and the exercise I get through them, I'm really accustomed to keeping everything on my person) so the knowledge that it is OK for me to walk aboard with my own luggage and take it to my cabin by myself is hugely reassuring! 😁 Another advantage of carrying your own baggage - Especially in rucksacks and other body-hung bags - Is that they save a lot of time on disembarkation day; While everybody else is waiting in long queues for the lifts, you can simply amble up/down the stairs and straight to the exit! 🇬🇧⬅🚶💨🇪🇺👍 Reference your fruit loop dining partner; Eccentric folk pop-up just about anywhere (I know this well as I'm one of those folk) and that's admittedly a fact of life, but one thing that's worth taking into account is if they show signs they might be a character (We often do; That chaps overtly colourful suits, my obvious obsession with high-speed rail etc) is to give a bit of advance thought as to whether you'd be comfortable sitting near/dining with them, and if not to choose options which reduce or eliminate the possibility - Like sticking with a single table, pairing-up with a family group that you know you get along with, or dropping back a few places in the queue to increase the likelihood you'll be seated apart. ↔ Granted, a lot of us are extraordinarily sensitive to negative social response (A large element of why we're overtly eccentric is in attempt to gain social acceptance) but if those distancing measures are done in such a way that we won't spot them (Or which we can be assured are nothing to do with ourselves) then it's a lot kinder and easier going on those of us who are affected by such things! 🌻❤😇👍
  • I just Loved watching your videos, yours are the BEST. I will be cruising Solo this Friday on this ship, Thank You
  • This is a great channel, Ben! I look forward to seeing your channel grow. It’s a lot of work to have dinner with new people every night, it is like having a bunch of blind dates in a row.

This has been a great series! I’m booked on Getaway in a solo cabin next year NYC to Bermuda, so I really appreciate your insight on the experience.
  • @topguydave
I've been on cruises with my partner and from time to time there are periods where we like to be solo for some reason, like one having a snooze, doing some laundry, gym etc. I've even ate in the buffet solo on a few occasions. It's more common and enjoyable than you'd think.

I have already seen your video after you arrived in NYC and the many problems you had with your accommodations. I felt soooooooooooo bad for you. Today I watched this video and saw how excited you were to be arriving in NYC and unaware of what was ahead. Love to know how you made out. Will watch for more videos. Going on a solo cruise to Alaska in August. Unfortunately, I have to pay double as they do not have solo cabins. Wish you were going to be on it as well as I know you would love it. Hope you are doing well. Don H Ocala Fl USA

Thanks for showing. Last day is no fun. I was always sad when I left ships and friends. I like your show and videos of ship. I hope to have a long trip between the USA and Europe. 😊
  • @garywhite1802
    Ooh,I’m a little jealous,but! I’m going on a cruise in a month’s time,thanks for these excellent videos
  • When people put their bags out in the passageway the night before to be collected, invariably there is someone who forgets to set their clothes aside for the next day and they leave the ship in whatever they wore to bed, if anything at all.

Hi Ben, really enjoyed all of your videos of the cruise. So glad that you had a nice Sunny day for the last cruising day. It was nice to see the calm Blue water. Sorry to hear about the last dinner dinning experience. One good lesson to take away is usually people that wear extremely bright colored clothes, will probably have an over the top personality. Hope this isn't offensive, but just a thought. Looking forward to the arrival in New York and your time exploring it. New York is a city where there is always something going on 24 hours a day. Best wishes for your upcoming travels and exploration.
