Lifelong New Yorker here. The city has changed so much in just a few years since the pandemic. Looks like a bad combination of Las Vegas and DisneyWorld. But I’m glad that Ben and new visitors to the city get a good feeling about the place. Visiting NY versus living there are two very different experiences.
  • A super enjoyable video, Ben! I have only seen been to New York City once in the fall of 1985. I really enjoyed myself, the city was really clean back then. That was before this worldwide homeless crisis so the streets were not overflowing with people that didn’t have a place to live.
  • We discovered your videos starting with your most recent Prima sailing and have gone back watch your previous videos. You've done a great job on all of the videos in this Norwegian Getaway series! My sister and I will be sailing on the Prima in February and have booked a studio cabin for each of us. Even though we are not traveling "solo", we are looking forward to having our own cabins.

My first cruise was NCL Getaway from NYC. I was so sad when cruise ended, but NYC is home so at least I got to sleep in my own bed after disembarking.

You seem like a person who would enjoy visiting the Frick House in NYC - it is filled with art of all kinds, sculpture, drawings, paintings, even some fascinating furnishings, ponds, sky lighting. You'd enjoy that atmosphere and it is also an architectural beauty.

Nice tour of New York. I was there a long time ago and loved the hustle and bustle of the crowds. I was able to blend in nicely and experience the moment. 👍

You have such a good time traveling - thank you for your videos!

That had to be a big jolt... going from the calm and lavish experience on the ship... to wild and expensive NYC! You gotta try one of those Halal food carts... I did... got a delicious filling Middle Eastern meal for $12. Licensed by NYC so very ok. You also must try a bagel with lox schmear because NYC has the best bagels in the world! For a relatively affordable and ok hotel you may want to try Leo House run by the Catholic Archdiocese of NY... modest rooms but secure and an incredible breakfast included. Looking forward to following your NYC adventures... have fun and stay safe!!!😇😇😇

Very enjoyable vlogs on the cruise and I loved NYC when I was young too….but no more…too many changes. I wish you lots of safe adventures in the city and look forward to watching for your videos.

Hi Ben. Really enjoyed your cruise videos. New subscriber, but glad to see your channel doing so well.

Hi Ben, unfortunately all good things must come and and end. Glad that the Cruise was such a great and memorable experience. It has been quite a few years since I have been in New York. Looks like things are as expensive and thrilling as ever. Looking forward to your videos exploring New York.

Don't know how I found your channel but I'm glad I did. Really enjoying your vlogs. Love your accent.
  • I'm really enjoying your videos. I've been to NYC several times and never felt unsafe and was never approached by anyone. My last visit was in 2018. I'd heard that things have changed since the pandemic and it seems it is true. Sorry to hear that, but still an amazing city. I'm sure you had fun!
  • Merci ben pour vos videos.ca me donne envie d essayer cette compagnie😊

Wow… I have been to New York a couple of times but that was more than 15 years ago. I didn’t encounter any scams at Times Square. Times have changed huh. I had to go to Empire State Building late at night because the queue was way too long during the day. 😂. It was great fun. I hope to visit US again - they have the best national parks. My favourites are Yosemite and Yellowstone!
  • Ben - Excellent series of cruise vblogs. Glad you enjoyed the NCL Getaway. I was very interested in your content and your reactions as I will be doing the return trip on the Getaway to Southampton on 28 April 2024. I will be in a balcony cabin with solo occupancy - I paid silly money compared to you but I had planned this trip two years ago because I wanted to do it. We'll be going to Halifax, Canada, Belfast and Dublin in Ireland and Amsterdam, Zeebrugge and Le Havre. I will be in NYC for three nights beforehand which I am looking forward to very much. Three days of madness then 2 weeks of relaxation. I have been tto NYC many times before. The Getaway will be my first ever Norwegian cruise and am looking forward to their product. I have been on Cunard (3 times), Princess (twice), MSC (twice) and P and O (4 times) and have been happy with the lot.
