Christopher Cross told Rick Beato in an interview that Sailing is actually about a place he would go to in his mind to escape his abusive parents when he was a child. He said he tried actual sailing one time and hated it. It's a much deeper song than most people realize.

He is underrated, for sure. Ride Like the wind is one you absolutely need to listen to- your boy Michael McDonald sings backup.
  • Close your eyes and you can feel the rhythm of the sea, the warm breeze and a cold margarita.
  • The musicality in this is astonishing man 😮 Christopher Cross is a Hulk…both in size (6’4”) and music. Try Ride Like The Wind and Arthur’s Theme. I guarantee they’ll both go on your list.

Do Christopher Cross's "Ride Like The Wind" next. Aside from writing great music Christopher Cross is one of the really nice people in the R&R industry.

  • Great song! Now you have to hear Arthur's Theme & Ride Like The Wind (Michael McDonald on backup vocals in this song!)
