Laugavegur - COVID edition - August/September 2020. Day 1.
After studying government’s guidelines, long consideration, adjusting our plans one time more we decided for a travel to Iceland and attempting Laugavegur trail. The photos and videos we saw were unreal, like somebody overdo filters and saturation - we wanted to check if such landscape is possible in reality... And reality surprised us. Our videos are chaotic, shaky and do not represent awesomeness of the landscape we spent a few days in. The colours in reality are fluorescent and there's omnipresent smell of sulphur. All that makes you think that you visit another planet.
On the first day we walked just about 11-12 km out of which 10 km was steady climb. We reached the highest point of the trail and from this point on it supposed to be only easier. Well...

Enjoy the video.

Wow, that's stunning. 👌🏼 Need to get myself over there. Maybe when the Covid-19 situation is over though.

A great Adventure Seb, looks kind of a bit like Scotland but without the thoudands of years of peat that has built up. Was the ground hot near to the steam holes? Great edit. Cheers.
  • How beautifully barren Seb! Great footage of a place I've often considered visiting - the terrain looks interesting to hike, but was it quite difficult to judge for wildcamping? atb Sinco
