there's something cool about being born in the 80s and growing up with the internet when it was slow and didn't have all the features it has today and then seeing how it evolved over the next 20 years

This really was the defining moment of the internet. People being given the ability to freely connect and share stuff created by a random dude who also just wanted to share stuff. Those were awesome days

Musicians should be honored that millions of people would be willing to download their music and be willing to listen to it. By letting people listen to their music, they can live on in people's minds well after they're dead. Be thankful.

Remember when put my own band in the folder and users starts to download it, one could make a chat with them. "Do you like this???". "Yes my friend played this songs at a party". Mega cool and some downloaded of just curiosity.
  • Folks who have Netflicks, search for it there. It's a must-see documentary for any music lover.

Seriously though where can we watch the rest of this?

It's really bizarre hearing someone say "what is the internet" even 20 years ago. It's like saying "what is a phone?"
  • @apex_prey
I lowkey miss that dial-up sound. That iconic "Welcome!" and "You've got mail!"

Is there any way to watch this film in Canada? All links online say "not available in your country"!
  • @Benimation
The link doesn't work.. Is it because I'm clicking on it in the Netherlands?

the work you had to go through to get music back then brought more value to actually having it.. Now days, through Spotify etc, its so easy to find whatever you want I feel like we don't appreciate the artists like we used to.
