So, never used a composting toilet, but used coconut coir in the garden and I had to soak the small block. So you put it in a little bucket with water, and it basically absorbs it over the next few hours and expands, and becomes soft and super easy to handle. Also, it expands in volume massively, which means you'd be able to use it for much more than one use, and it wouldn't be so hard to handle as it is right now! It wouldn't be wet, just soft and dry :). Check out some gardening videos using coconut coir, it'll probably be clearer than what I'm describing, lol. Hope it helps and good luck!
