  • I have never seen anyone pronounce Ilyushin so wrong yet so confidently.

The most interesting story that happened to the Su-25 during the Chechen war: one Su-25 flew to the airfield with ... a telegraph pole in one engine! 😮It turned out that this Su-25 was performing a combat mission at an ultra-low altitude and accidentally touched the wires between the poles, one pole was pulled out of the ground and stuck into the engine. The plane still managed to return and land on the airfield ... 😎

Putting adequate armour on one engine instead of inadequate armour on both is actually quite brilliant

Its so powerful even game developers need to think twice to feature this frogfoot

Calling Ilyushin "Ishulin" is the only problem with this video. 😂 Great work! On a side note Brrrrt fans often criticise the Su-25 for its much less focus on anti-tank warfare. To be fair the Soviets didn't need to deal with overwhelming number of NATO tanks (it was the other way around), so tank hunt was not a priority.
  • I've seen videos of the Su-25 taking direct hits from anti-aircraft missiles and still flying. The first was in Ukraine while the other was recently in Congo. The Congo one is the one shown at 6:24. The video of the jet getting hit while airborne is here on YouTube.
  • No doubt the Soviets were also keeping a close eye on US operations in Vietnam, where we were dealing with the same issues in a shooting war. Thanks for showing how the Soviets came up with their own solution for heavy CAS, and how parallel development works to arrive at a similar solution--noting the outward similarity to the Northrop A-9A (maybe a reason the very different A-10 was chose?)
  • That YT premier countdown video will never cease to amaze me. Whoever created that should make a movie, better yet an entire series.

A-10 Thunderbolt II and Su-25 Frogfoot are really two flying tanks and assault kings in all aviation of the world. No third or fourth created anything like this. Geniuses only create such.

I love Su-25's, they are basically IL-2's of the jet age with incredible cockpit protection like the IL-2 in its day.

    A10 - Gatling Gun with wings SU 25 - AK47 with wings

This is one of my new favorite YouTube channels and I'm so hyped to be able to see the premiere of not just a new episode but one on mt favorite jets!
  • Here is the same situation as with F-22 and YF-23 where the rejected prototype is much more interesting: there was also rejected prototype IL-102, shortly mentioned in the video and it would be great to see it in one of the next series. It is worth it!

It’s crazy that with all our tech, this war is still being fought mainly with weapon systems that are either 70 plus years old or based on those designs. It’s even more crazy also when you realize that some of the most expensive and advanced tech is virtually negated by relatively cheap UAVs or Manpads.

The Frogfoot is legendary. Knowing how the Russians stretch their equipment I'd bet it will be in service for another 50 years.
  • You see how rough with both gun & rocket damage some of the Su-25s are looking like in Ukraine but still flying good. They’re really taking damage without seemingly many negative effects.

Su25 is a one of the kind attacker. It is super agile, with 4500kgs weapons, it has a speed of 650mph. It has a titinium bath tabs and it can run on any run way, the engines can take any kind of fuel, disiels, petrol ,gas .. It is Ak72 rifles

The Russians really know how to make clever, rugged equipment. Very innovative people.
