Many people have asked me what is my favorite wok, and I often fail to give them a simple answer. I love to use different woks, and I have ten of them hanging in a corridor next to my kitchen. I rotate them in my cooking, and I enjoy using all of them. However, I use some of more often than others, suggesting that I have preferences. In this video, I ranked my top ten woks that I used on a regular basis. This selection is based on criteria that I have developed over the years. Hopefully, this and the other video will help you in your wok purchase.

I didn't think I could have a wok because I have a glass top stove, so I was very happy to find your channel and expertise on making this work! Thank you 😊 Could you please link to your top ten woks? You could even sign up for an affiliate program to make a bit of money when we buy your favorite woks. Thank you and take care!

Thanks a lot. Been indecisive about buying a new wok, but this definitely helps!
  • Tak, thank you for the time you take to share this information on the different types of wok. What would be the best to have for camping over a open flame, and house hold use?
  • Hi Tak. Thank you for making these videos. I am new to the Wok and would love to try it! Based on your recommendation, I bought the Cuisinart wok. What spatula do you recommend for a stainless steel wok?

Hello, Unfortunately the Ken Hom natural carbon steel wok is no longer available on his Web site. All of the woks now have a Whitford PFTE (Teflon style) of non-stick coating. He still shows a 12" (32cm) on the Great Brittan site, but they don't appear to ship to the USA. I can't find the SWT wok anywhere, but I did find the Imusa light weight cast iron wok at several places, including Home Depot for $32.95. Walmart sells an Imusa light weight cast iron wok with Bakelite (plastic) handles for $28.77. This appears to be the same wok bowl as the metal handle version, but with the heat resistant handles. No oven use for the Walmart version.

Do you have any issues with the Hen Hom wok rusting or anything like that? I have read a lot of people have had this issue. I wonder if they just dont season their wok or wash it correctly? Thank you
