Importance of a wok spatula - why you need one for stir-fry. Wok Instruction.

For me, the traditional stainless wok spatula is a game changer. It is designed to navigate the contour of the wok and to turn over the contents in the wok efficiently and effectively. Stir-fry was an entirely different activity when I used my old wood spatula with a wok with non-sick coating. I was tentative and uncomfortable. The stainless wok spatula frees me to focus on the cooking process rather than the adequacy of the equipment. Stir-fry is a fast and ever changing cooking process. A good wok spatula creates a direct and immediate connection between my mind and the physical process of stir-fry. The traditional stainless wok spatula in comparison to a wood spatula is analogous to the comparison of a racing car to a family sedan.
With the stainless steel wok spatula has changed my perspective in home cooking, which has transformed from a stressful chore most of the time to an activity that I could be in the moment, targeting my attention on the process in achieving a state of mindfulness. I now make careful preparation each time when I cook, and the execution often takes me into a state of flow. I feel empowered and liberated in my cooking beyond just creating delicious and health meals for my family. In many ways, I credit this change to the stainless wok spatula. Small things could make significant difference in the big picture.

I enjoy just hearing Tak Talk!!

Thank you for tackling this modern social problem of people not cooking at home. I found your channel because I recently bought a wok. What a treasure you have been for me, as I needed guidance to step me through the process of cooking daily. I had no idea how to even find support for this change in mindset from take-out food to daily home cooking. I already managed to get most of the way there, but your videos are taking me all the way to the finish line. Thank You!!

I just purchased a "beginner wok," look at the metal spatula, and set it aside, thinking I would somehow damage the wok (despite the fact that it's literally included with the wok). I'm glad I found this video and channel.

I love that you're tapping the spatula on the same scratch post that I have for my cats.

haven't finished watching your video yet but this is EXACTLY what I was looking for - commentary on the tool to compliment cooking in a wok. I have my favored "spoon" for cooking in a pan, and it's also an old tool. It's probably 35+ years old, and it was my parents' before I got it to supplement my own cooking supplies. The thing is the perfect size, has a flattened tip area so it can scrape a pan, solid plastic with a metal handle so it isn't too wobbly or soft. Just the ideal utensil. I had a feeling my difficulties with wok cooking may have been helped by getting the shovel looking tool. Your video makes me think I was onto something!

I just watched so much wok with tak

I finally found a wok spatula and it is the tubular type like you recommend. I also found the matching ladle too. I can’t wait to cook with my new tool, stir fry should be a lot easier and fun.

Very, very informative, as always. Thank you. You can find a Sunrise wok spatula, but they all have pins. Can you recommend a wok brush?
