Recording of my trip on the Cambrian Way in June 2019.
After leaving Black Mountains the weather slightly improved, I did big miles and had time for reflections what led to serious decision.

There will be additional video where I cover do's and dont's and briefly review some of the gear I had with me.

Apologies for my English - I do my best with poor results.

Thank you for watching.
Be safe and hike on.
Sebastian

The trail will still be there Seb next time, over the years I have walked over all the section you have completed and the majority of the Cambrian. Mtn section. Trails need to be enjoyable and not torture. Take care I promise you Wales does have some sunny weather Martin 😊😊👣👣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 .PS Fortunately for me Brecon Beacons is my playground.

Great series of video, enjoyed watching and listening to your views on the trail especially as considering this for next year. Cheers
  • I agree with everything you said in your thoughts about the Cambrian Way. In good weather, it would be a sublime mountain trail through some wonderful landscape. But anything other than good weather any it becomes something much more strenuous and demanding. It looks like you had a similar experience to me when I walked it in 2016, with persistent wet weather. I'm sure you'll be back to continue the journey; I'm sure I will too to repeat the route one day. Thanks for sharing your journey, I really enjoyed watching.

I think you made a wise decision Seb. It's not all about the external image as you said - proving it is not the point. Always best to enjoy something! In fact there is something satisfying at making such a decision. You can regroup, gather your thoughts and enter the trail from a different perspective. I enjoyed what you did cover mind you much of which I have walked on and off throughout the years. It is beautiful without the rain or mist obscuring the views. Well, all the best. I look forward to your roundup. Mark

You did truly brilliantly along the Cambrian Way. The rest of the trail will still be there in years to come- and if you're armed with the new Cicerone guidebook when you return route finding at least should be easier for you.

I think we could all tell by watching this series of videos that you were not enjoying the trail, Seb. You were right to call it a day and it will still be there next time when hopefully you will get better weather. In regards to your feet were you wearing waterproof socks? I know last year my one pair of those socks saved my feet on the Cape Wrath trail and now there are always two pair in my rucksack no matter what. I know some people don't like them but I would consider them especially if you wear those trail running type trainers on the trail.
