  • Your parent’s home has the same beautiful aesthetic as your chateau😍
  • The beautiful yard and garden, elegantly curated decor, and love of pet animals. It’s easy to see where you have inherited those genes.
  • Your mom’s home is beautiful. You grew up across the LI Sound from where I grew up in Cold Spring Harbor NY. Your photos made me homesick. Yes the price of food has increased dramatically in the US, but as you said we have ice and air conditioning and window screens all of which we take for granted. I’m so happy you are loving your life in France. The drone video over the patch quilt of fields was magical. You are a great storyteller, photographer, narrator, cook and decorator. You definitely have an artistic eye and I look forward to your videos every week. ❤

What a beautiful edit of music, drone shots and mowing. So glad you are home safe and sound!!!❤

Such different vibes - Connecticut surrounded by water life, parent's house and gardens beautiful and well put together. . . . . chateau - I can see where you get your aesthetic after seeing your parents home, chateau equally as beautiful, fields look like zen gardens from above and everything is soooo green. love your vids. please keep them coming. I so look forward to them.
  • I live in New Zealand, having moved here thirty years ago. Recently, I headed back to Canada for a 3 week family visit. It was wonderful and heartwarming - and also quite unsettling to see how different my country of birth has become. The amount of construction of new infrastructure - from roads to roundabouts to housing to retail complexes - was unexpected. Like you, Amanda, I was gobsmacked (good word, eh?) by the incredible variety of food available. Here, a supermarket may offer 2 varieties of a foodstuff where there would be 6 in Canada. Once I got over jet lag and my sister was convinced I wouldn’t get lost, I took myself to the neighbourhood Sobeys where I simply walked up and down each aisle, marvelling at the choices. Normally I squirrel away a can of pumpkin pie filling to make the kids eat the food of their native country at Thanksgiving, but this time, I didn’t buy anything, for fear that, if I started, I wouldn’t know where to stop. Thanks for sharing your trip back home.
  • Hi, Amanda. As a fellow American, I have to say that I wished I lived in France. The food is much better there. Yes, we have choices but most are not good. I'm a scratch cook so I can keep costs down. The greed of the grocery stores and manufacturers is keeping the prices artificially high. Thank you for showing us your childhood home. It's lovely. I love your sense of humor! Hi to Lincoln! Hugs from Washington State.

Reading the comments, it isn’t just the US that has high food costs. Corporations took advantage of the pandemic—their greed is shameful. Your mom’s home is lovely and you are lucky to have lived in such beautiful areas of the world.❤️❤️😮

  • I have lived in Colorado all of my life, 72 years😬, and yes, the cost of groceries have doubled!
  • @shirley845
Food in the US is way more expensive than in the UK.
