Interesting week with a surprise visit from the roofers, and some great brocante finds, chateaux visits, and thoughts on a bunch of things. Food at the end:)

  • I had a feeling the piano people would call you back. Your chateau is the perfect location for a beloved piano. You and Leslie would be the perfect custodians.

I agree with Leslie. Either purchase the additional property or repair the stables. That money would be going toward a legacy at the chateau , something that would last forever. The other things can come in time.
  • Hi guys what a treat getting this a day early as none of my other people post today!! Saw something on YouTube which will interest you. A woman was killing weeds on her driveway and she swears by it. She buys commercial size bags of bi carb and sprinkles it over the weeds and then sprays water all over it. She maintains it never grows back, she is slowly doing her whole property. Within 24 hours which ever area she did, everything was dead. The bag was about the size of a potting mix bag (20 kg) I think. Going to give it a try in a small area at my place on the papers. Am assuming I can buy the the bi card on Amazon but will first look for wholesale price. Xx

The forth idea is the most timely. Others can happen any time. Don't miss out on that land!
  • I’ve watched you for a long time. Thank you for speaking out on morality and a good value system.
  • I respect your view of France and I am glad you mentioned that the ceremonies didnt reflect the France you know. I was offended with some aspects of the ceremonies and therefore having a degraded view of France the country. We are called to love our neighbors and your take on the Olympics have made it easier to be less offended. I do think they mocked God, which is not a wise thing to do. But God can defend Himself and Im called to love my neighbor.

You did the exact right thing with the roof! I was in multi million dollar sales for years. It has to be a win-win for both sides! And one of my Sales training classes they actually set it up so that each one of us got screwed and they knew that a lot of us young people were hard-core put them to the wall tight sales people so they did this so that we would know how our customers would feel if they got screwed it was mind-boggling a great exercise, and we all learned the lesson well! If your service provider feels screwed, they certainly will not want to work with you in the future! By being generous of heart, it will come back to you I promise! What I would recommend is I would ask them after you pay them they are capable of making the rest of the repairs that you need and to give you a price on that! There are already experienced with your roof. If you call in a new company they don’t have that familiarity or understanding! So it should be easier for them to make those repairs and I would just suggest that you list them all in detail in order for them to give you a proper quote I would wait and see what they come back with. You’re going to need that repair done at some point anyway! I suspect they will be. generous of spirit in the quote that they come up with and probably make both of you guys happy! I learned over my ears in Sales and I. was always a top sales person for each company. I worked for if I was generous to my clients that it was much easier for me to end up making larger sales and more sales than any other sales rep! This is a perfect example of trusting God and watch and see what happens

Rob, I really enjoy the end of the videos and your thoughts on life! You have such a gracious way of expressing things. Also, well said about the Olympic opening ceremony, it feels like the whole world has gone crazy and is obsessed with instant gratification, no matter what form it may take.
  • All of your ideas for a chunk of funds are excellent. I think the car and the tractor are the most practical and necessary. But the land is the most tempting.
  • If you watch Chateau du Purnon, they talk about how the pigeonnaires were one of the grievances during the revolution. The pigeons devastated the everyday farmer’s crops and while the rich aristocrats got to eat tasty pigeons and use their guano on their gardens.

I am 79 years old and in my neighborhood I have one of the largest yards to mow! I have a small lawnmower because it’s easier for me to handle at my age. It’s only 16 inches wide so it takes a while. I use a battery powered lawnmower and the thing about it is, it keeps me from overdoing it and having a heart attack attack so when the battery stopped running, I take a break! We have had torrential rain for several weeks now, so the grass is intense! So I suspect it will end up taking me at seven days to finish mowing my lawn so I can certainly appreciate what you’re against. It would take me months to do the château.

I think the pool and hot tub would be a perfect asset to the Chateau. Expecially with the heat that you have.
  • I do believe the tractor will help you most. You really need it to fight back all the unwanted growth.
  • @kathymalloy6246
Love watching you both. Ty! For your conversation of love and the Olympic’s The grounds and the inside of the château is looking beautiful. Can’t wait to see the piano.😍🇺🇸🇺🇸
  • Who would not want their piano to end up in a chateau?!! That’s awesome! Please tune it to 432hz like they used to do in the old days! It will feed your soul! (That was an interesting rabbit hole I happen to explore a while back!)
  • Great video and great rant. Agree with you...all that stuff was not what France is. Blessings!! 🇨🇦
  • Swimming pools can be a money pit. Constant maintenance and money for chemicals and electricity for the pump.
  • I would definitely start the stables roof fund. The building is just deteriorating more and more until you get it replaced.
