to me this is the best classic heavy metal album ever, a benchmark, I love Saxon, I love Maiden, I love Accept and Grave Digger... but to me none of those bands ever recorded such incredible album, something so intense and perfect, for me there is no weak points on Painkiller, each individual songs is a masterpiece and contributes equally to the final result

As someone said, Painkiller is probably not the best metal album, but it is definitely the MOST metal album of all time.

As a younger metalhead who started with more modern stuff and has been pretty much tracing the genre's evolution backwards, color me impressed. This is definitely one of the best albums I've found so far, and I don't say that lightly. It's insane how fresh it feels even 30+ years later.
