Michigan won the game in the trenches. That defense completely overwhelmed the Bama O line the entire first half. Bama looked a lot better in the third....then Michigan won the game in the clutch when they needed to. All the talking beside....they were the more physical team and it looked like Alabama was just going through the motions and assumed they would win.

Michigans defense masked its blitzes all game long. Saban was hoping to pick them up and grease Michigan down field. The problem is the blitzes came through the gaps, they came from the edges, they came from pocket collapses. Michigan defense just outright dominated!l! Kudos to those corners playing man coverage. They did not falter all game.

This is disgusting trying to paint this narrative. Michigan thoroughly outplayed Alabama and left 4 on the board due to sloppy special teams. Also had two muffed punts and a couple costly drops. Shout out to Alabamas kicker making multiple 50 yarders

Sure, Alabama made some mistakes. But I would argue Michigan's mistakes were just as big or bigger. A muffed punt that gives Alabama their first score and momentum. A personal foul penalty that stops a drive.

ESPN made it sound as though Bama was the better team who should've won but a bad snap cost them the game. However, if you watched the full game, you'd see that the Michigan D-line was dominating. Both of Bama's touchdowns were resulted from poor field position due to mistakes by Michigan special team. Michigan should've easily won the game in regular time if not for the two poor punt returns and turnover, missed field goals, and especially the missed extra point.
