hahah just learned from you all that XG isn't k-pop. shoutout to them!

Simon, the CEO of XG, became aware that some deaf individuals were following the group. In order to include these fans, he requested the presence of a sign language interpreter to translate the lyrics of the song. Subsequently, he asked the choreographer to create the choreography based on this translation. Later on, Simon made sure that the message was being conveyed clearly and comprehensibly both in the lyrics and the choreography. This initiative demonstrates XG's commitment to promoting inclusion and accessibility for all of their fans, regardless of their hearing abilities.

I think the last shot makes sense because this song is a prerelease for their mini album and it might wanna give us this unfinished feeling
  • @laijudy7872
The video makes everyone think it's a short video but still crazy enough to make a 17 minutes frame breakdown video to study on it. XG is absolutely taking the industry to the next level.
  • @NiNi.258
I heard the music video was directed by a photographer and that's why all the shots look so well composed
  • @MoistPlums_
Fun fact: Simon (their Executive Producer) incorporated sign language into Chisa's choreography for their hearing impaired fans. God, I love XG so damn much
  • @jennier2g
The MV was directed by Cho Gi-Seok, a renowned Korean photographer known for his surrealistic style.
  • We need to also mention that it’s a Japanese group with Cyberpunk theme. I love that they incorporated cyberpunk aesthetics to reclaim the Japanese origin of the genre. Their identity is very ambiguous like they sing in English and promote in Korea… but they kinda show their Japanese roots in a subtle but cool ways. Shooting Star was Y2K gyaru culture and now Cyberpunk.

As a dancer the layering part where the middle member did a different move than the rest actually looks really cool and the slight messiness really adds to the energy and vibe of the choreography and song!!!

  • @sonndjay

  • @swimmerboy172
Haven’t see Jordan this excited about a girl group since everglow. ❤
  • @letisiaekarini8313
XG prefers not to be called Kpop group, but a Global girl group and yes this mv is stunning!!
  • @angmiming
I love that you're reviewing/reacting XG's Girl gang because honestly it has so many transitions happening, I watch it at least 3 times the first time to be able to understand or follow everything occuring in this MV. Also thank you for introducing XG(Extraordinary Girls) to your audience, they're Japanese girls primarily promoting in Korea but their songs are mostly in English while some have Korean and Japanese in them as well like their raps etc.

This mv was directed by photographer “Cho-Gi Seok” who directed the mv for “I Wish You Roses” by Kali Uchis. His photography and his creative team that works with him on most of his projects, to include this mv, are honestly some of the most ethereal and insane concepts I’ve seen in a while.
  • Actually love the section with the center member doing different choreo. Having the members faces covered by styling + lighting lends a robotic/mechanical feel to the dance (also literally with the ai transition shot of the choreo earlier). So while it draws attention to the center member, i also love the contrast of that organic roll movement there against a more mechanical image. It feels like a combo of organic humanity + ai futuristic tech, which ties in thematically throughout the video and directly with the solo member shots following. Big fan of the photographer/director who worked on this project and of these reactions, I always learn so much!! Thanks for doing them, Jordan!
  • @RazziPermana
If I remember Maya also did a choreo part differently herself compared to the rest of the members in the Left Right MV, so I think it's a recurring theme and as someone who appreciates choreography, I think it creates emphasis and gives a fresh moment of a mostly 80% synchronized choreo 👍

Cool breakdown. Another thing about the motorcycle shot is that it definitely looks like a callback to the iconic image of Akira, the classic 80s animation movie, and the camera moving backwards somewhat makes it look like the motorcycle is drifting away, like in the actual scene of the movie. The rest of the imagery is also reminiscent of classic japanese animations like Ghost in the Shell or Evangelion.

This MV is so crazy, I want to see aespa in MV like that. SM wake up. Aespa deserve more futuristic, cyber, sci-fi comeback and new hyperpop music. XG team are so creative and talented for doing this MV and the girls are so beautiful !!!! Love it so much <333
  • @klrtwallflower03
Just imagine what would've happened if the mv wasn't this short
