Watch this evolution of Vocaloid songs with the Most Popular Vocaloid Songs of Each Month from 2007 to 2024! They are ranked based on influence and viewcount. Although a song might have less views, it may still be referred as more popular based on it's influence in external places, like Project Sekai or Project Diva. Looking back at these songs, I am able to form an idea for certain eras of Vocaloid. Look at 2013 where IA was quite popular. 2020 was absolutely crazy with Flower! Now we are getting a new era with KAFU and Kasane Teto.

I've also realized that DECO*27 appears way too much in this video. I think it is safe to say that he is the biggest Vocaloid artist of all time. What also surprised me that GUMI was not second in this video. I for sure thought she held that number two spot.

This video was created for informational purposes and all artists have been credited in this video.

Any video errors that have been found in the video will be listed here in the description!
- Accidental space in Hanataba's title, causing it to be misaligned.
- Vocaloid count at the end of the video is NOT entirely true, as I did not include the alternative songs. However, the rankings stay the same if they are counted.
- Accidentally repeated September 2017 twice

If anyone was really wondering, here is the top list for Artists and Vocaloids in this video, since the video only displays up to three:

Artists:
DECO*27 - 19
PinocchioP - 12
Giga - 9
Kanaria - 6
rerulili, Orangestar, HACHI, Kairiki Bear - 5
wowaka, Jin, kemu, KurageP - 4

Vocaloids (I DID NOT ACCOUNT FOR THE ALTERNATIVES!):
Hatsune Miku - 115
Kagamine Rin - 31
GUMI - 26
Kagamine Len - 21
Kasane Teto, Flower - 11
KAFU - 8
Megurine Luka, KAITO - 7

I've unlocked YouTube Chapters! I'll be organizing them by year so you are able to easily switch to certain years if needed!

July 13th Update: July 2024's song has been projected to be "YAMADA PERFECT" by jon-YAKITORY with the Honorable Mentions being "ULTRA C" by Giga and "Diving Flower" by Nejishiki - June 2024 Honorable Mentions are now "Empurple" by Harumaki Gohan and "Carnage Rose" by teniwoha June 20th Update: MELLOMELLOID by Kairiki Bear has been replaced with Binomi by MARETU for March 2024's Honorable Mentions. June 22nd Update: After looking even deeper, I've decided to come up with the following changes: - Toosenbo by wowaka replaced by Megu Megu☆Fire Endless Night by samfree for June 2009 - Kisaragi Attention by Jin replaced by Setsuna Trip by Last Note for May 2012 - Crazy ∞ nighT by HitoshizukuP replaced by Children Record by Jin for July 2012 June 24th Update: HUGE CONTROVERSIAL TAKE but ROKI by MikitoP has been replaced by Lost Umbrella by inabakumori for February 2018 (This is because I've looked deeper into that month and did not take account into Spotify Streams. I believe that including the statistics for Spotify Streams SHOULD make Lost Umbrella objectively more popular than ROKI.) This leads to two more changes: - Otome Dissection by DECO*27 replaced by Bitter Choco Decoration by syudou for January 2019 - Reincarnation Apple by PinocchioP replaced by BUG by Kairiki Bear for June 2022 I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to pick those choices for those month. Please forgive me for that.😅 Also this video far exceeded my expectations to how much views it'd get and I want to say THANK YOU EVERYONE for all the comments and feedback for the video, and even 1,000 subscribers! ❤Feel free to give me any video ideas in the future, I wouldn't mind checking them out.
  • what i said before is real: OH MY GOD DECO PLEASE GIVE OTHERS A CHANCE DECO I BEG OF YOU
  • @darkace98
Insane, that PoPiPo and Ievan Polka became honorable mentions
  • I’m just noticing that when project SEKAI released a lot of their songs were on this list, not complaining though they’re all bangers
  • @ei01304
DECO*27 ate and left no crumbs
  • @Rioreia_
This kind of video really makes me feel like a old man with a stick
  • @akfc.6978
In Teto’s case, one of the reasons for this popularity is because of her new Synth V vocal
  • @Cmoi-_-

dang this shows how much vocaloid culture has evolved over the years, there are some newer songs and recently released songs i like a lot (like electrical forecast and beyond the way) but i also miss the vibe a lot of those late 2000's/early 2010's songs had...

Looking at the vocaloid usage numbers Hatsune Miku - 115 Kagamine Rin - 31 GUMI - 26 Kagamine Len - 21 Kasane Teto, Flower - 11 KAFU - 8 Megurine Luka, KAITO - 7 I sorta wonder Is Hatsune Miku the queen because so many amazing artists use Hatsune Miku? Or do so many artists use Miku because she is the queen?
  • The project sekai (positive) impact with vocaloid is just incredible bro
  • @akfc.6978
I think Zundamon and Kasane Teto are becoming as popular and commonly used in the mid 2020’s as KAFU and Flower in the early 2020’s
  • @aglefed
Insane seeing unhappy refrain and Kagerou daze only getting honorable mentions due to the competition in their months
  • @strawberrijay
making me nostalgic even tho i wasnt into vocaloid until 4-5 years ago. shoulda been watching early vocaloid mvs in 2008 instead of learning my abcs
  • As soon as I thought about May 2024, I swear I knew that Touhou x Vocaloid songs are about to come honestly. My reaction was like: "OMFG?!?!?!" And went to do the exact movements in Help me, ERINNNNNN!! Really hit a great spot in me, considering Touhou and Vocaloid's communities are pretty chill with eachother.
  • RIP wowaka i sadly discovered vocaloid long after he died, but i find some of his songs relatable, and all of them amazing <3
