Seeing Yourself holding his tears back, always hits me. Throughout the whole song, he's just smiling, creepily. Kinda like joker. But also like joker, He's broken. Broken to the point he cant even cry anymore and just hides the pain behind that creepy, yet sad, smile.

a lot of things needed to go right to get this as good as it is, timing since FNF is not a game where lyrics are common, the right VA with the correct energy, the character design from a beloved creator who passed away, the amazing animation work, a great song to get you into the mood, and the absolutely subtle lore bits that can be interpreted in a wide but easy to filter way so the community can create a consensus on it

Lore: so when a dev of sonic.exe named divine (not his name more like his nickname) died someone found a sketch of this version of bf so they made a mod about and the lyrics match with the creators death because the proud scene means to show what he did with his work and the awake part is so he can see the masterpiece he created then the my way part is to show the ways he did it

if you don't notice in the song during the lyrics the red aura is actually Herself's spirit which lingers inside the microphone that yourself is holding that is why at the start of the song that little animation the microphone glows red
