  • I worked at a theater when Seven came out. Never saw so much unfinished candy and popcorn. The audiences would come out silent and stone faced. It's hard to overstate how shocking this plot twist was for 1995.

What I love about this ending is that you want him to shoot, in that moment it feels right, but right after he does it, you just feel empty and dead inside. There is no payoff, no satisfaction, Doe won. Incredible

I watch Seven in the theaters when it came out. People left the theater shocked. Great movie. Great ending.
  • One of the most gut wrenching movie endings of all time... so well acted. How do you NOT pull that trigger...
  • @robertdochter277
That smirk Doe gives when he says "He didn't know" is utterly chilling!
  • @Mr.Batsu12
The change from the police being in total control over the situation to hearing a worried Morgan Freeman say "John Doe has the upper hand!" was amazing.
  • The single frame of Tracy's face the moment before Mills decides to pull the trigger is masterful. He goes back and forth up until that point.

I went to see this in 1995 with my acting coach at the time. At the end, there was not a single sound from any person in the audience... except for only one young woman. She was crying so hysterically she was practically convulsing. Every person in that theatre filed out as though at a funeral procession. It was the darkest feeling I have ever experienced at a movie cinema. And I will never forget it.

The way Morgan Freeman looked up at the sky, and rolled his head when John Doe said "oh, he didn't know"...he knew it was over. He knew there was no way he was going to convince David, at that point NOT to kill Doe.

Kevin Spacey's monotonous voice telling him exactly what he did and that smirk is always chilling. Amazing actor.
  • Easily my favorite psychological thriller of all time, Kevin Spacey's performance will be talked about forever. David Fincher is a Goat. Great job on the video. 🤘🔥🔥
  • @1639danmcc
What a performance by Brad Pitt showing all this different emotions in his face.

This will always be one of my top 10 movies. Not because the story is unique ( it is ) or the acting is all fantastic ( it is ), but because through the whole movie you just have this....SICK feeling in your gut, like something is wrong, and then the end scene the anxiety spikes. It's the perfect thriller.

Denzel Washington was offered the role of Detective Mills first but after reading the script he turned it down saying it was just to dark
  • @ayomoe8687
Oh you kids I'm so jealous you get to experience this for the first time

Went into this movie blind when it came out in theaters with some buddies. It was probably one of the best, most shocking, disturbing cinema experiences our young minds had ever witnessed up until that point. Weird to say, but it really jump started my love of movies and what they could do. I consider it a masterpiece.
  • Saw this the day it was released. NO ONE knew Spacey was in it (he is uncredited). It was such a shock. The whole film is superb.
