It's worth mentioning Rooster was never angry at Maverick for his father's death. He was angry because Maverick held him back in the academy out of fear. Imo that was such a better reason

That “YOU TOLD ME NOT TO THINK!” Scene was perfect. Not only because it was funny, but they weren’t afraid to have a silent moment, and honestly, that’s refreshing.
  • @escalad89
Best line in that movie was "You told me not to think". F-ing Mic Drop!!!
  • @EvostarSC
I'm so glad someone else made the correlation of the final battle and Star Wars.
  • @spooderman6312
Honestly, any movie acknowledging Tom Cruise's older age and using that to effectively advance the story is a good movie in my book
  • @Dynaman21
For all of Tom Cruise’s…notable, oft repeated weirdness, when the film starts with him essentially giving a speech to the audience about how he’s doing it for the love of cinema, hence all the delays, I felt that. And the film worked.

Really late to this party but I did appreciate this movie's underlying message: not ooh-rah Merica, not Tom Cruise is immortal, but that nothing resolves male interpersonal conflict better than trauma bonding.

One reference folks might have missed: Mav describing the mission requiring a series of miracles, was a reference to The Saint. The 90's movie starring Val Kilmer (reboot of the Roger Moore TV show). It's a very sweet love letter to Val Kilmer.
  • “My name is Bradley Bradshaw, you killed my father, prepare to fly”. Made my day. Thank you Honest trailers.
  • @pjdiver3
"If you ever get in trouble, call your boss's boss to yell at them". Wow...felt that one, felt it deep. Bravo
  • One thing I really like is that Bradshaw did NOT hate maverick for Goose’s death, but rather delaying/obstructing his career. It was a great decision and avoided the obvious, cliche plot

Sprinter Soldier? Prepare to Fly? Hulk Smashed? On point references. LOL
  • @rex-racer
Hats off to Honest Trailers for the split screen on the trench run with A New Hope. Top marks! And btw, Luke’s target was only 2 meters, not 3. Take that, Mav!
  • @ExemplarKyle
I’m so glad they added a bird strike to the movie. It’s a very real threat to every plane, regardless of size.
  • @Grimneo
Easily one of the best sequels/movies ever made. Seeing this in theaters was amazing.
  • @BenX74
The "g-forcing out a big dump" part had me in tears 😂
  • @gagaohlala6267
"Mav, Brad Brad..." "My name is Bradley Bradshaw. You killed my father. Prepare to fly." I DIED
  • @josephspargle
I liked the joke about Tom Cruise starting a real war just for authenticity in the movie. Also the 15 second compilation of the pilots' heavy breathing is awkwardly hilarious. Did it take much effort to collect it ? xD
  • @InvestwithAlen
Depression is caused by the souls of dead aliens Scientology pun was marvelous 😂
  • @justinpate3466
G forcing out a big dump and now I'm laughing so hard I'm crying
