This video is so helpful. Thank you so much.
  • Thank you for this. For me it was moving in 2s and I switched the math to add 128 instead of 256 and I worked fine, whole numbers one by one

This is awesome. Thank you so so much. I'm using 2 Arturia minilab + Ableton Live for live performing. Is it possible that I can turning the tempo in a wild range with knob, and use this step-adjust method you recreat here, at the same time? The former is for dramatic sound effect, the latter is for mixing, in my case.
  • Well done Sir, it's very helpful, but please, can you do a tutorial showing how to use your typing keyboard to increase or decrease tempo ?

Excellent, with the 128 variable thing. Thanks. Now, how is this done with an endless encoder, or knob? I get tons of tempo fractions instead of a steady move by 1bpm. Thanks!

The AKAI APC40 MKII has a control knob for this and it works perfectly.
  • I am working with lemur and ableton live 11, but when I set up the relative 2 comp, it starts to jump withing 2 values it doesn't work with my korg nanokontrol studio neither

Thanks for the video! For some reason the button to go up works fine, but the button to go down jumps to 60. Do you have any idea why this is happening_ thanks very much!!

I'm using a Morningstar Engineering MC8 MIDI controller--foot switches. I was controlling tempo with that unit using an expression pedal, but the sensitivity G force practically imploded the program whenever I pressed it. So I went searching for a way to control tempo with two buttons. Eureka! And it worked--but I wasn't limited to the factor of 128 X 2. I could just add 128 to my minimum. That may prove faulty later, but at least I've got something that works MUCH better. The one thing I have to do to change tempo, however, is to ensure "Warp" is activated in "complex" mode. So why isn't this stuff printed in plain language somewhere. I have read and read and searched and searched--I can only conclude that the Universe wanted me to find this post. Thanks again!

I am using the xone k2 and I cant edit button details the way you can with your controller... I desperately need this ability in ableton but cant figure out how to make it work with my controller. Tried OSCulator but that doesnt work either, best I can get is a jumping value. Any idea how to make this work with xone k2? 🙏🏼

Is there a footswitch I could do this with? I need to control tempo in real time using a footswitch while playing an instrument...
  • @iam_midekeys
pls can you help with a random midi controller ? I have tried my best, but it’s not working
  • @in_10z
I do not have the relative mode option in Live 11. What am I doing wrong?
  • @TheUkuleleXD
In 2024 with Novation components it is better to set buttons to "trigers" because otherwise I will cause to change tempo up to 2 down or up :)
