I really like what you said about "if you don't know what to do, just ask." VERY important consideration.

I'm a old retired cop. You are doing a valuable and much needed service. I've been a firearms instructor in both the military and my civilian careers, but never considered the gun store etiquette the new gun buyer needs to be familiar with to not feel like a fool. You have done a real service to many people that were lost about what to do safely. I commend your actions.

I’ve been a responsible gun owner, Hunter, military veteran, and shooter for more than 60 years but am still amazed at the number of people who handle firearms unsafely in gun stores. For example, people trying the trigger or just examining a gun but waving it all over the place, muzzle-sweeping everyone around them. Another example is folks who don’t either return or accept a firearm by clearing it themselves EVERY SINGLE TIME. Last but not least is those who rest their finger on the trigger all the time it is in their hand. Full disclosure here, even as safety conscious as one can be, there can always be accidents or unintended events. Just don’t let them result in an unintended discharge. Guns are ALWAYS LOADED, & never point a gun at ANYTHING OR ANYONE you don’t intend to shoot. There are other gun safety rules that matter but if you just obey these two herein, you can prevent the great majority of firearm related accidental shootings. Be safe everyone!

I have recommended this young lady's channel to several women. I think she is amazing; she instills confidence, puts people at ease so they don't feel embarrassed to ask a question and imparts some great advice on safety, holsters for women's various outfits, etc. She is really an amazing person.
  • Although I have been using/owning firearms for almost 60 years, an Army Infantry vet and a certified NRA instructor I found this video to be very well presented, quite informative for new firearms owners and a good brush up for those so called experienced gun owners. You probably are wondering why I watched your presentation. I personally seen several incidents over the years of supposedly experienced people at gun stores with some rather bad habits and questionable handling skills. Good job young lady.

A girl I work with just got just got her 1st gun. She's been to the range once and is still nervous. She is a single mom and stylish like you. I would very much like to give her this subscription to your class if I win.

I walked into a shop with my wife and teenage daughter (17 at the time) my daughter decided to look at a firearm (this is Texas, mind you), and she swept the store with it… I immediately took the gun away and gave it back to the dealer, then corrected her on what she did. I have had hunters safety courses, so I am very sensitive on firearms safety. The gentleman behind the counter was grateful that I was able to teach her the finer points of firearms safety in a public setting. Good video.

Great information from both of you. Thanks for sharing. My father was in the gun business about 50 years. I still go to gun stores with him, just like when I was a kid. Someone we know pointed a gun at him in his house. The guy is a veteran which shocked my Dad. Gun safely is not sometimes it is all the time, no matter where you. My Dad who is in his mid-80s, will never forget that breach of safety, and that man will never be invited to the range. Safety training is just as important as training to shoot.

I originally subscribed when I was looking for a channel that addressed women because I have two adult daughters. Recently I even sent your link to my neighbor asking for carry options. I am licensed and carry but I would love to have my daughter take the course. Sometimes it’s better to have someone other than dad teaching you!

Last year I joined a The Well Armed Woman shooting club. 4 weeks ago I completed and applied for my Concealed Pistol License. I want to thank you for all these videos you have put out, they have helped me tremendously in being able to pass my test with flying colors! I would love to enter your academy course. Thank you for all you do for us beginners.
  • @oscopin74
Absolutely. Treat EVERY gun as if it's loader, and NEVER point it at anyone you don't intend to shoot.
  • @TripleTapHK
I always find it funny when gun store guys check the weapon, drop the slide and put the mag back in then hand it to me because then I immediately drop the mag and lock back the slide to check it myself. It' surprising how many will comment and say "I just checked it." Cool story bro, I didn't.

This was a great video and something I needed to know prior to going into my local firearms dealer. I am new to firearms ownership, and want to make sure that when purchasing a home defense pistol I am following the safe and proper protocols when in store. One major concern I had was wanting to test trigger pull, dry fire. So I am extremely grateful you put that into this. Lastly, a great topic that I didnt even think about would be how to manage purchasing a holster with my current fire arm. These were valuable tips and I thank you for that. Well off to my dealer. Thank you again.... D
  • @amelie3265
Yes! For some reason I’m always scared I’m going to do something wrong a gun shop 😂
  • @infyranna9004
My wife has recently gotten into firearms, and she is learning all of the basics. I think she will love your channel; she likes seeing ladies who enjoy the hobby in person and on video platforms. Thank you

I have been a gun owners since a 8yrs old. Great community for the most part. My question is universal. Why are the dudes behind the counter such jackwads? Is it so hard to be pleasant when someone approaches them to spent hundreds of dollars? I have gone to online purchases using a local FFL. The hassle of dealing with dealer dusche bags has gotten more than I can stand. And the markups are stupid. Its like they havent heard of the internet yet.
  • @ronmarvicsin7709
Very well done. Not all people know how to handle firearms especially in public. Simple and to the point.
  • Congrats on your 100K, little sister! So proud of you. ❤❤ Love you! Keep up the great work.
  • @NCMCPlantier
Why do I need this course? I fit that profile! Took a pistol safety course. Got my CCL. Purchased 3 pistols (and won 2 more) Purchased ammo, holsters, range bag, eye & ear protection, speed loaders, gun safe, and a laser training system. This was back in March and I have yet to fire a bullet thru any of my pistols. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really enjoyed shooting at my class but still feel so intimidated and afraid to walk into a gun range! Sad but true. Thank You for your channel! I continue to educate myself on shooting and really appreciate your content.

Being a single woman, in this world we live in, I have decided that I'm going to conceal carry. I took a ccw class and applied for my license. I haven't chosen a gun yet, but I want to and need to get more confident. I heard about your channel in the ccw class from another student in the class. You are so inspirational and confident. You are my inspiration! Thank you for what you do. I would love to win.
