Admission should be based on merits and academic standing.
  • @Basta11
After 5 years working in a profession, no one care where you went to school.
  • @2thomask
The admissions board should not see name or race on an application only a id number
  • There are a host of students in these schools that academically should not be there, but they are legacy admissions.
  • @jlee1696
Too much focus and false belief that professional success depends on graduating from the Ivy Leagues. This needs to change. It is unhealthy for the high schoolers.
  • Legacy should have been banned/outlawed from the start, never should have been allowed to begin with
  • Imagine applying to an Ivy League school where everybody has a great GPA and participates in extracurricular activities. How can you truly separate yourself from the rest? Its almost like hitting the lottery
  • From someone who spent time at Harvard in graduate school, this is really hard to watch. Harvard is really not the be-all end-all of your life, and we’re lying to kids and stressing them out when society implies otherwise. Most of the undergrads at Harvard aren’t really that much different than college students at other places. The difference is the money and privilege their parents tend to have.
  • The "quota" was on Asians, keeping their numbers at a limit. It had nothing to do with black people, that was an excuse, but they'll learn.
  • It would be nice if we didn’t talk about ethnicity at all in college applications. You should be judged as an individual.
  • Hold Your Own Nuts, dude. It was Asian People who wanted AA gone. Be careful what you wish for…you know the rest, Smart guy.
  • People focused on getting rid of affirmative action and they forgot about the legacy/rich students who are dumb but still get in.
  • 😂😂😂They used the asians to fight againgst Affirmative Action, now the asians find out they still cant get their wish. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • Don’t go where you aren’t wanted. In 20 years, having a degree from an Ivy League school will be viewed as an indication that you were a recipient of special treatment and probably not that smart. I already feel that way
  • why is this still an issue? wasn’t it banned?
  • Still blaming black people because you or others didnt get into an institution that you think you are entitled too. Precious. You didn't get in because of legacy.
  • @tbyas4406
Institutions know what to do, they will enroll more students of alumni and wealthy students. Those schools were designed for the rich and now it will go back to the rich.
  • @hana_moon
bro, havard rejected you, because your parents are too average. havard wants parents with deep pockets
  • The real issue is, the ivies did not do away with legacy admission. Why is the media not discussing this?
  • Not sure what narrative they are trying to push here, but he's not entitled to admission to the Ivies. He seems like a smart young man, but he, like many others need to realize these schools accept majority of their applicants from fancy prep schools and legacy applicants. Having good grades isn't enough from them. They want students that come from wealthy families and whose parents can make generous donations. They want students who graduated from their elite prep schools. These are private institutions looking out for their bottom line.
