Frontman Corey Taylor admitted to The Pulse of Radio that it took him a while to warm up to "Haunt Me" during the recording of Audio Secrecy. "It was one of those songs that I didn't really feel until it was finished," he said. "I enjoyed the lyrics but I wasn't sure about the music. I'd come in and I'd sang it, and I put my heart into it because the lyrics are about my wife and how I feel about my wife, and then I left. And I came back and they (the band) had just made it incredible. Now I can't get it out of my head."

One of those songs where every instrument has a vital part to it, fucking love it.

If you think about it, the video fits the song perfectly. It seems that the male (Corey) was all too willing and even playful when the woman seemed to be torturing him. This seems like a Sadomasochistic relationship, where both enjoy to feel and be in pain. The story began with an arranged pickup and the woman would commence the torture. The only difference is that the woman is caught off guard at the end because she didn't know that the man had it in him to give her the same treatment that she had given him for so long. They both enjoy the pain of their relationship and know that, regardless of anything else, they will always belong to each other in one way or another. The phrase, "Say you'll haunt me," would be in response to the scars from the relationship. "Say you'll never die," references the same thing, and that they'll always be together until both of them die, physically. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I saw.

I swear, Corey changes his look more than any other artist I know of, lol.

This song was part of my story for a long, long time. I listened when I was 10 years old and every time I hear it again, I am extremely nostalgic. thanks for the inspiration, Stone Sour. You marked me!
