Recording of my trip on the Cambrian Way in June 2019.
After walking all day in clouds over Black Mountains the views started to clear-up although it continues to rain. It's just another day of walking with almost constantly submerged feet. But circumstances of my walk don't change the fact that I had privilege to walk in beautiful part of the world.

There will be just another part from the hike and additional one where I cover do's and dont's and briefly review some of the gear I had with me.

Apologies for my English - I do my best with poor results.

Thank you for watching.
Be safe and hike on.
Sebastian

  • Enjoying your videos of the Cambrian Way Sebastian, they're aren't too many people who tackle the route, and even less who complete it. It certainly deserves it's reputation as one of the toughest in the UK, and if you're unlucky to get a lot of wet weather it can make it quite an ordeal. I backpacked it in 2016 and had 10 days of continual rain from Cardiff to Barmouth and ended up with infected feet, and having to take antibiotics to recover. But for all that, it's a superb route with some lovely remote sections. As they say, it's one for the mountain connoisseurs out there. Enjoy the rest of the route if you're continuing north.

I found this to be a truly epic video. I walked several of the easier sections of the Cambrian Way in South Wales many years ago. I even did the Pontypool to Abergavenny section as a day trip from London- in those days the heather was largely trackless and very exhausting. I have just re-walked the Risca to Pontypool via Twmbarlym section and posted a video of this on my YouTube channel. Did you know that Cicerone have just published a new guidebook to the Cambrian Way- I think it came out just after your walk. It would have been invaluable to you- you might still be interested in buying it. Really enjoying your videos.

A really enjoyable section Seb with a few challenges. I was in Capel Y Ffin just the other week. It's a beautiful area and the tops are good without the cloud. Well, Pete was the friend on the trail. It's nice to have such a boost. Having said that you sounded tired towards the end. I would be to be fair. You did well mate - some grand hiking there. Mark

You are doing well in quite difficult conditions out there, Seb. The weather is just not playing ball for you. If I can remember from my school days a lot of Wales sees the most rain in UK only beaten by the west coast of Scotland in rainfall.
