This really hit home. I carry the burden of sins from decades ago. I know how to approach it now.
  • What a great and very helpful conversation. I have in the past been very scrupulous and had a difficult time forgiving myself. It took me some spiritual direction and prayers to free me from this sad situation. Father and Ken have given a perspective that should help many people. Most of us are parents and love to give gifts to our children and to see the gift rejected is a very sad and frustrating thing. God bless you both greatly.
  • Thank you for this conversation, I have struggled with confession and this has helped with a new perspective on Jesus’s forgiveness,

I was talking about this with my middle one. My sons 1st confession was today and yesterday he was nervous about a specific sin that even when Jesus can forgive him, he feels he cant forgive himself. This is a great to put it. Is about being open to his mercy, allowing him and not allowing ourselves are not compatible. His first comunnion is tomorrow, olease pray for him 🙏
  • What a great little boy story, Father🙏 That said, the lockdowns gave us, who are older, time to reflect and suddenly think- did I ever confess that sin from years ago? So we struggle. 😢

  • This message really hit me today. I have had a hard time forgiving myself for a lifetime of sins. I was away from the Church for over 30 years and the hard thing is seeing the harm that it caused to the people in my life. How do we deal with that?
