A Different Homemade Scalloped Potatoes Recipe

Most scalloped potato recipes call for butter between layers. Mine does not.
Large Russet potatoes 5-6. Peeled, washed, thinly sliced.
Flour. Enough to sprinkle over each layer of potatoes
Salt. To taste between layers of potatoes.
Heavy whipping cream. Enough to fully cover the potatoes.
Preheat oven to 350* F
Layer ingredients- Potatoes, salt, flour. Then keep repeating until all potatoes are in baking dish. Pour in whipping cream. Cover with oven proof lid or foil.
Place on cookie sheet to prevent spillage in oven.
Bake for approx 1 1/2 to 2 hrs depending on height of layers in baking dish. Mine was 4 inches high and 6"W x 10" L
Remove foil or lid for the last 15-20 minutes of baking and turn oven on broil for just a minute to brown the top if you like. Be careful! Lid or foil and baking dish are extremely hot and contents will be bubbling!
*You can also layer these ingredients in your slow cooker/crockpot. Cook on low while you're at work!
