The TAURUS KEPD 350, standing for Target Adaptive Unitary & Dispenser Robotic Ubiquity System / Kinetic Energy Penetrating Destroyer, is a long-range cruise missile engineered to precisely target fortified positions without requiring the launching aircraft to penetrate hostile air defense territories.

🎬 Key Points:

📌 Its structural design prioritizes stealth. The rectangular body, crafted from composite materials, avoids sharp interfaces, making it less perceptible to radars. Furthermore, a special radio-absorbent coating masks its presence even more. Ingeniously, the air intake channels are curved, a feature devised to hide the engine turbine from prying ground radars.

📌 The Taurus maintains a steady subsonic speed in the vicinity of Mach 0.6-0.95. The missile's reach is nothing short of impressive, capable of engaging targets up to 310 miles (500 kilometers) away.

📌 Once launched, the Taurus employs its Tri-tech navigation system, merging various sensors and reference databases to consistently monitor its position and adjust its trajectory.

📌 The Taurus missile's tandem warhead, designed for Maximum Penetration and High Sophistication in Target Optimization (MEPHISTO), is tailored to decimate hard and deep-set targets..

  • The official range of the Taurus is 500km. The distance between kiew and moscow is around 760km. The distance between the ukrainian border and moscow is around 450km...
  • @ROBOSapiens7
Calling themselves "interesting engineering" but calling the size in inches, the weight in pounds, and the distance in miles.
  • @moos5221
As a german citizen I hope we will supply Ukraine with lots of these without any limits, so that Ukraine can strike targets well within Russias borders.
  • @jrmerida
Moskow deserves to look like Bucha, Bakhmut and Mariupol!
  • @Cancun771
Russia strikes all of Ukraine with impunity, preferably innocent noncombattants. As a German, how is Russia in its entirety not a legitimate target for Ukraine? Herr Scholz?
  • @aspitofmud6257
Good job on the designing of this cruise missile. I think we're going to need a few more as excellence is always in high demand.
  • @user-ux1mu5np3p
Keep the range, Dear Germany🇩🇪. Please do not neuter this missile for the Ukrainians. You wouldn't diminish it's range capabilities for your own use would you? Ukrainians need to launch this missile from deep within Ukraine as it is, so they can reach & penetrate hard targets or bunkers that house Russian missiles & aircraft. that are used for harming civilians. Please do not neuter them. - from a concerned Canadian 🇨🇦
  • @jedpeeler4199
It's range should not be restricted and Ukraine should copy it and rain it down on Moscow.
  • @foucher77
Get them to Ukraine as fast as possible!
  • @bangmo7
This is a powerful stuff. South Korea have bought 260 pieces. Now South Korea is working on two projects. One is to codevelop a smaller and lighter version (KEPD 350K-2, . .2,000 lb) and JASSM-ER like indigenous version.
  • Which is best Storm Shadow or Taurus? Well a Storm Shadow under the wing of a Ukrainian plane, being fired at Russian targets, is a lot more useful than a Taurus missile in a warehouse in Germany, gathering dust. End of argument.
  • @CrassSpektakel
The current plan of reducing range could lead to a more powerful warhead which might come in even more handy than the pure range. Also to take out the Kerch Bridge a single, very large warhead might be superior to the rather specialised Mephisto Warhead.
  • @Fact_Check_2023
I am german too. Yes. We should deliver 300 Taurus to Ukrain. That’s a size Russia should think about negotiations. With European long range bunker breakers like Taurus..it becomes uncomfortable for Russians in Ukrain. No bridge is safe… no ship is safe….no commander bunker is safe… no weapon Depot is safe…. No anti air system is safe….. / if our Olaf Scholz is not slow as usual …. That would be an positiv asymmetric moment for Ukrain.
  • @the_manofculture
THEY DON'T WORRY ABOUT ITS CAPABILITIES, THEY WORRY GERMANY WILL BE DRAWN INTO CONFLICT UNNECESSARILY
  • @Lost-In-Blank
Graphics animation do not fit the description of how it works in the second half.
  • @mikedittsche
Though this channel is called interesting engineering, it missed the most interesting parts of engineering about the Taurus. One difference between the Taurus and Storm Shadow/SCALP is that Taurus uses a Turbofan engine while the latter uses a Turbojet engine. Turbofans are more efficient, allowing for a longer range with the same fuel tank. The Taurus can be programmed to penetrate several levels of a building and detonate on a specific floor. Its detonator has an inertial sensor that can feel how many floors it penetrates through and can count them. This makes Taurus perfect for penetrating through the road of a certain bridge and detonate at the pillars below.

Only Brits can talk so hot about weapons 😎
  • Not sure about the Russian SU-34 in the video, but damn it's a sexy plane.
