Outstanding! I’ll add 1 point: if u fall backwards, tuck your head forward ❀

I love the time between the start of any fall and the actual hitting the ground or objects in your way. Because, that time is where you can reflect on how much pain you're going to be in.
  • Brilliant video to show us rollers how to fall the best ha ha ..I love where your video is filmed and al your uploads, have a great weekend, Sonique :face-red-heart-shape:

Once again I learned something new and was well informed watching your videos. As one who has fallen many a time directly on my tail bone it was nice to learn the pick a cheek trick especially from someone who was blessed in the cheek department. Not only the cheek department but you are blessed in showing us mere mortals the fun and enthusiasm you show in your skating and the skill and ease after hours of practice. I am blessed to watch you and that wonderful smile it makes my day. Thank you for that.

It is a very good idea to make a video on how to protect yourself falling while skating. Thumbs πŸ‘.

  • Could you do a tutorial on transitions and different styles. I have narrow tight hips, so I find transitions impossible! But I can skate comfortably forwards and backwards.
  • Great information and totally makes sense !! Thank you RetroRoller !!! :))

I once took a tumble, but I'm good now. It happened the day I fell for you. 😍
  • Nice tutorial. Believe it or not, one of the best things you can do to learn about falling and maintaining some impact control is to learn tumbling, or judo, or something of the like. This is much easier for younger people but the biggest thing it does for you is it helps you identify the difference between being off balance and a full-fledged fall. It aids in developing falling techniques, like how to choose what cheek or convert the fall into more of a slide out, which disperses the impact energy across the body and not just a specific spot. I think, the biggest thing to remember is that it's okay to let the fall happen. It's typically the resistance that worsens the situation, so let the fall happen and control the impact by learning "how to fall." Relax and go down, rather than stiffen and wait to see where you land. If a person learns tumbling, this will all start making a lot more sense! Also, the more you practice the tumbles, your body will toughen up, making a body less prone to injury as well. Another common, unrealized skating aid is to learn downhill skiing, if you can, that is. Skating and skiing are more closely related than most realize, and the shape of the boot will help you adapt/learn proper knee bending and balance in that position.
