  • Steve, Master bedroom with 375cfm50 would equate to about 22cfm Natural every day condition (N-factor of 17.2 for a two story house in Carolina's) Far lower then a ton of cooling as stated in commits below. 22cfm doesn't sound like much but when you multiply 60 minutes times 24hrs equals 31,680cfm of leakage in master bedroom alone.

Great video, but wouldn't be easier to just blank off the master door and cut a hole large enough for a flow hood? In your test, the Retrotec mini door kit would probably work better with the low cfm range.
  • Should have set up the unit on the master suite as Pressure Flow not pressure flow at 50pa.

Need to keep your eye on hurricane Florence!
  • pretty sure the same results would have come from testing the whole house negative, then positive testing the bedroom alone, negative should work as well, if the house is neutral to outdoor with open windows/doors, so it's not trying to pull the whole house negative/positive. that would work for any individual room/area, just subtract it from the whole house door test, could do both positive and negative to factor in flexing windows and other joints..

Good luck to you and your family with this hurricane coming. Not really sure what area you're in down there, but be safe bud.

Seems like you could get the same info, if the vents are blocked, by just closing off the master and reading at front door.

Hi this is unrelated to your video it’s more of a question ..I’m from New Jersey use to work in nc for hvac do you think with this hurricane there will be thousandths of service and damage to these out door units and do u think is it worth it to go down for a month or 2 for work

Stephen two different brand doors , could you give a warning when things are getting this crazy ? A little heads up at the beginning?
  • @XphirephliX
Does that mean you’re basically losing a ton (12kbtu) of cooling through your master bedroom or did I misunderstand something and mixing something up.
