Great Video Stephen Air Conditioning is a Measured Science very cool tools
  • From my understanding of the Attic Zipper in the beginning. I was under the impression that the Attic Zipper door was insulated.
  • I'm thinking it's time everyone starts "positive" pressure testing houses, vs. all the negative testing being done ;)))))

I had a helper who was standing on my blue reference hose once, drove me crazy until i noticed it.

Hey Stephan I have a weird question to ask I have a store front that used to be 2 separate stores in one building well we expanded into the store next door removing the divding wall opening up the building. The question is I now have 2 a.c. units cooling the same space is it possible to wire both condensing units rooftop units to run on the same thermostat that way both in its come on at the same time too more evenly cool the room both thermostats are set at opesate sides of the building we have where sat at same temp one unit will shut off while the other is still running causing hot and cold spots we want both units to run at the same time as it's a large open area. I know I could buy a larger unit and redo duct work but I don't want to read apart the building to do so. I have 2 4 ton units. Ones a carrier one is a rheem.
  • seeming rather nutter, with many comments, do you fellas ever ensure all "drain traps" are full of water before testing? amazing what one empty 1.25 to 2" trap will do to testing ;)

Does it really matter on what brand ac unit you get ?

It appears that you left the baseline number you had on the blower door in when you were testing the duct leakage to outdoors. You are referencing the house when you are doing the duct leakage.
  • the best part of all that work? do the people living there keep the windows locked or even closed all the way? (sash seals leak more when not locked?) do they forget exhaust fans on all day? (most likely yes, so timers or motion sensor timers perhaps) many folks in general are very wasteful fools. no list and multiple trips to stores, etc. sadly changind bad human habits would help energy loss and waste 10 fold compared to what most homes lose ;)
