I remember when blocking with your sword on multiplayer servers was a universal peace sign
  • @Vaneay.
Old village is now considered veteran. Time is going fast…

I remember when you had to find a Jungle and find an ocelot to tame it and turn into a cat.

Turned 17 today. This is throwing me back to around 2013, when i first played minecraft with my friend

I remember playing with my siblings and whenever we heard cave sounds we'd lock ourselves up in that little house we built, thinking that it was Herobrine lol
  • who remembers when u could enchant anything so you would make the most op stick ever

I remember in Minecraft PE you could download your friend's world while in multiplayer and the copied default name was 'Temp' for some reason. Also another thing in Minecraft PE is the worlds weren't infinite and had an invisible boarder. However if you could build up to the max block height you can walk on top of the border infinitely.

I haven't played Minecraft in so many years and I remember all of this like it was yesterday. It's a bit overwhelming seeing how much it's changed!

I still remember when andesite, granite, and diorite got added. My friend and I were all ticked. We liked the simple caves and thought the new blocks were rather ugly. And those old boats, man when they changed that we did a happy dance.

I remember when my brother made this huge wooden prison and was really proud of it, then he added the lava. It disappeared very fast.

I started playing Minecraft in the late alpha days, I had so much fun back then. I still love Minecraft, but the magic of late alpha is something that hasn’t been recreated for me. I can’t believe I’m a veteran, it feels like just yesterday I powered up the game for the first time at the suggestion of a friend

I played a lot of Minecraft back in the day, then I stopped and a few years later I played with my friends who started playing after most of what you showed in this video, and I remember they would always get so confused when I couldn’t craft fences or when I can’t climb ladders with a space in between. Watching this video makes so much sense to me
  • it's crazy how much things have changed. like, the changes have felt so gradual over time, but when you really look back, the whole essence of the game is entirely different from what it used to be

I also remember when swimming was not a thing and instead you had to just slowly bounce your way until you found the next spot of land. I also remember when you could make a corner stair by it's self by making the corner stair with the two others on the side then simply removing them, I miss that feature.

the &e0 score thing was because back in the day Minecraft text had "&-codes" to display color, &e was for bright yellow while, say, &a was bright green and &3 was dark blue. Plugins for servers used to let you use them for chat colors / sign colors as well. The game must have just been bugged to not register the color code indicator for the score screen at the time.

I did not actually realize the blacksmith structure got removed. I remember in the very old versions the lava at the “forging station” often lit the wood on fire. Nostalgia

Man, this was a nostalgia bomb, started playing around 1.2 release. Does anyone else remember the trial version of minecraft where they would let you download and play minecraft for 5 in-game days without buying it?
  • i've been playing minecraft since 2012 and still a kid and on the ipad so i can barely remember the smaller details, but things like the two available flowers (and how the flower collection gradually expanded), the old boat, having to survive the night without a bed, are things so special to me, i'm glad i watched this video to remember them
