I am sure that most families have someone in their family that is toxic and makes gatherings miserable. So most of us stay away from them. Why can't you commentators not give the King and Prince William the same grace?How is it your business to decide who should see who? You do not know both sides of the story. St

If the King had seen Harry, it would have looked like the King approved of Harry and Meghan's trip to Nigeria. Politically, it would have not been a good look for the King to see Harry the day before the non-Royal trip to Nigeria.

They seem to pass over what a 40 year old brat and his wife have and had been doing to their family for 4 years. Until they show accountability for their actions I feel the RF is totally justified in keeping themselves guarded. We hold our children accountable, which is how we guide future generation of good humans, citizens. At 40? I can’t keep listening to these two.

Maybe the King didn't meet Harry because he didn't want to endorse the Nigerian tour as a Royal tour

I am from US, and I do not closely follow this story. But I think instead of asking “Why can’t the King break the rules just once to be able to see Harry?”you should be asking “Why can’t Harry follow the rules just once to be able to see his Father?” I think it is a test that Harry continually fails.

Why do you keep saying "It's incredibly sad?" Both are adults. It's a private decision. We are not family members and our wishing and wanting shouldn't play any role in what any of the royal family do when it comes to Harry and Megan. Why are the King's actions "shoddy?" In all honesty, we have no idea what all has passed between them. People are entitled to their hurts and disappointments and don't have to kowtow to the wishes of complete strangers. Let it go!

Would YOU "see Harry" if he'd spoken about you and your family as Harry did? ...and his wife said they're one plane crash away from the throne? Charles Spencer did nothing to help Diana when she asked him for help....NOTHING. Charles Spencer wasn't ivited to his daughter's wedding.

I think the Royal Family are sick of the drama from Henry and his handler... The King needs to worry about his own health and well-being..

When you deal with debilitating illness, there is always a time of restriction then a major burst of energy and desire to make the most of the time you have regardless of your ability to do those things. The King has been very aware of his time restrictions so no surprise he is filling his calendar.

A lot of the journalist keep stating that the royal family is funded by the taxpayers but I think the journalist should research more to understand fully about the royal family's finances because they keep providing the false information. The royal family's finances are nothing to do with the UK taxpayers except for their security cost. Bear in mind that the security cost would be the same for any Head of State whether if it is the monarch or not. The Sovereign Grant is 15-25% (the remainder 75-85% goes to the UK Government Treasury) of the income generated by the Crown's Estate which is under the ownership of the King so essentially the Crown fund for itself and the Sovereign Grant is not used for the royal family itself but for the upkeep of historic palaces, staffing costs associated with functioning of the palaces and for functions associated with royal duties such as hosting foreign dignitaries, hosting investiture ceremony etc. Any surplus amount not spent on that financial year go into the reserve fund for later use by the Crown. Their private income comes from the Duchy of Lancaster for the Monarch and Duchy of Cornwall for the Prince of Wales respectively which fund for the daily expenses of the royal family. The royals voluntarily pay taxes on the income from the Duchies since the early 90s. So, people needs to research a bit more to become educated before making opinions because uneducated opinions are not helpful.

It’s not a shame at all, at last Harry is being shown how insignificant he is! The King has put up with enough of Harry’s behaviour and doesn’t owe Harry anything! the sooner Harry is kicked out of Invictus the better!

Harry was never a pilot. He couldn’t pass the exams. Also, he has just spent 4 years trashing his family in the most vicious way. Why should the King want to meet with a son who is such a traitor. Especially when he is fighting for his life, suffering from cancer . The worse thing he could do, would be to put himself under the terrible stress caused by his ungrateful son?

See Harry so that he could then make out that the King had supported his trip to Nigeria. Well done to the King for not seeing him is all I can say.

RF has had an accurate picture of who Harry is far longer than has the public.He benefitted from palace managing his image. The family’s gut has been full of his behavior far longer than we know.
