I didn't think it would be that easy to take the slop out of the steering mechanism. Very cool.

You forgot the most important part! Replacing the muffler with a header pipe, so your neighbors know that you mean business! lol
  • Whenever you get past the originally intended speeds, replacing the grease that's packed in the transaxle with thick gear oil is essential, unless you want to blow out the transaxle. Also, it will heat up quickly due to it being spun much faster than manufacturing spec.

Dude you're genius! Great video, great editing, great photography and straight to the point. Your build is absolutely amazing in how you figured all that stuff out and the quality of the build!

What an epic video. So fast paced and engaging. This could have been stretched to 10 mins and still have been awesome. Great work mate
  • @preheatx
The sounds that those Craftsman mowers make are so satisfying for some reason. Who knew an 18 horsepower engine could sound so awesome?
  • @cole9967
I really like this. You're showing people how without a fancy shop full of tools. Some tutorials require 20 grand of equipment first

i dont know why i was recommended this video and i dont know why i watched it, but i am thoroughly impressed how much faster it goes and this man is a legend because any other youtuber would have made this be a 30 min video easy with a part 2.

the straight cut gear sound coming from a lawnmower is iconic
  • Drill the carb jets, better exhaust and air filter will get you a few hp too. Then rip that governor off
  • Best mower upgrades video ever. Thanks. I just got the mower fever and I got me two and got them running good. But I can't wait to do what you did.

  • My journeyman has been helping me come up with a design to build my own racing mower and I’m definitely gonna take a lot of inspiration from this. I’m just lucky my journeyman also has a welding ticket so hes gonna teach me to weld and help me lower the frame. Best job I’ve ever had😎

Best mower video I have ever seen. Amazing work! Thanks for posting the links I am going to have to try something similar.
  • @leesuschrist
This looks like a friggin hoot! I'm actually amazed you did this all without welding anything. Pretty much everything could be acquired from a hardware and auto parts store to make this.
