Acrylics can be toxic when it dries Meanwhile me: painting on skin

I got everything set up to start painting... then I realized that I needed a solvent...
-
slowly turns to my acrylic pallet w dried paint
-
I wanna cry. This is gonna be expensive. 😢
-
Lena: acrylic is also toxic when dried Me: looking at my hands with dried acrylic paint from earlier Me: fÜćK

Instructions not clear. My house is on fire and my arms are missing.
-
Fun fact: dawn dish washing soap also helps to clean your brushes.

One thing that I always bear in mind when I am painting is that if the end result really isn't what I had hoped for and would not want it hanging on my wall, I can throw it away and start again. No big deal. If you consider the cost of a night on the town and compare it to the cost of a canvas and a bit of paint it is cheaper to enjoy yourself with an evening of painting than blowing your cash on alcohol. There is also the added bonus that you might one day sell a painting, but a night on the town disappears into the ether and you'll never get your money back. Great vid by the way, thanks.

i just bought a pack of oil paints and didn’t know i needed a medium/paint thinner, it wasn’t too expensive but i went broke buying canvases and other supples... i should’ve gotten acrylic 🥺
-
I’ve never used oil paint and I got some for Christmas and this sounds so complicated 😖 😂

My paints (watercolor, acrylic, oils) have been ignored for way too long. Especially the oil paints, they're still unopened even after 10 months since I got them all because I was so afraid of starting oil painting. But I've been researching what to do with oil paints and this video is very helpful. Thank you.

Her: Acrylics dry way too quickly. Me, a watercolor beginner:

You know, if you're not using professional grade colours, you could say that you're... gamblin with the quality of your painting. (I'll see myself out)
-
Okay now I’m scared to use oil paints. Who knew paint could be so dangerous
-
"made of chemicals" everything is made of chemicals
-
Oil painting sounds so.... hard, in the sense of all the products and the whole paint thinner down the drain thing. Imma stick to watercolor 😹
-
I love the results of oil painting but it seems like such a time consuming and difficult process :(
-
Thank you for explaining the uses of all these mediums in a simple easy to understand way. I couldn't find any other video less than 30 minutes that explained what you did in 10

Thank you Lena! I have not worked with oils for some years, your intro was a great brief and "essentials oriented" refresher for me! Keep being obsessed it helps us all.
