Nine years after winning javelin European Junior Championships gold in Rieti, Italy, Julian Weber finally won European gold at Munich 2022.

In his first European Athletics Championships appearance, the German out-threw the competition, recording a winning effort of 87.66m to be crowned the new European champion.
