  • To move your song (or bourbon) to the front of the list, please bribe us by sending a bottle of bourbon, preferably one we haven't had on the channel yet, to: BCR 484 E. Carmel Dr. Suite 155 Carmel, IN 46032 Be sure to include your song request in the package!
  • Its about judging other people, you did it perfectly, you couldn't get past the hooker and so you lost the story. That is exactly his point, we judge others without knowing their stories. The preacher gave the bible to the hooker, the hooker changed her life and the child the hooker had became a preacher. "That's the story that our preacher told last Sunday as he held that blood stained bible for all of us to see... and the preacher who gave this bible to my mama who read it to me".
  • The song is supposed to represent three wooden crosses to make you believe they excluded the hooker because what she left behind was a sin. But when you find out that she survived and passed on her new found sense of virtue to her son, she now leaves behind a legacy of love and salvation.
  • I'm so confused as to how you're confused. It's such a simple story. The preacher in the story gives his Bible to the hooker in his dying moments. Her son grows up hearing the Bible from his mama, and becomes the preacher of the church where the "storyteller" of the song is a member of the congregation.

Hi guys! Yes- the preacher left behind redemption for the hooker in the blood stained Bible. She was saved, turned her life around & raised her son Christian and he became a preacher. On this end at least sounded like maybe not the best sound quality on the video y’all heard. Check out Randy’s collab w Don Henley called ‘More Life’. Soooo good! A couple of good ones that showcase his vocals: It’s just a Matter of Time and King of The Road. The CMT Crossroads w him & Josh Turner doing KOTR is really fun!

4 characters 3 passed away. (1) The farmer left behind the love of growing. (2) The teacher left the knowledge she taught to her students. (3) the preacher left the hooker with the knowledge she didn't have to continue down the road she was living. She changed her life and her son was the preacher the narrator was talking about.
  • The original video shows the story Very well, and explains it .. yes the hooker was given the priests blood stained Bible and she read it to her son who then became a preacher hence the line "it's not what you take with you but what you leave behind you when you go" .. it's one of Randy's most award winning songs..he is a legend 👏

The farmer , teacher, and preacher passed away the hooker survived and had a son who grew up to become a preacher and told the story about how the preacher changed his mom's life by giving her the bloodstain bible and saying to her can't you see the promise land. Other great Randy Travis songs are 1892 , On the other hand, Forever and ever amen, I told you so, Is it still over, He walked on water , just to name a few.
  • Randy Travis suffered a massive stroke and can no longer sing. Hell, he can barely talk. He was also an actor. You should check out "Forever and Ever, Amen" and "On The Other Hand." Good stuff

LOL! I’m loving this channel. Please know that the rest of this comment is not meant with any snide sarcasm or anything, I sincerely thought your reaction was hilarious. You guys are funny. Watching the wheels turn in this one was priceless. My favorite part is when you ALMOST get it, and then jump over to the hooker giving the Bible to her local church! 😂 I can see that plenty of folks have already spelled it out, but just to layer it on, Cross 1. Farmer Cross 2. Teacher Cross 3. Preacher The hooker took the preacher’s blood stained Bible, got saved, changed her life, raised a Christian son who she read that blood stained Bible to, who grew up to be a preacher, who told the story to the congregation which included the song’s storyteller.

This song is fantastic and that’s saying a lot because Travis had a talent for #1 songs.

Randy Travis almost singlehandedly saved country music in the 80s. Country was seriously on its deathbed, but the young Randy Travis came along and lit that deathbed on fire, mid 80s. By the time 1990 came around, Garth Brooks was on the scene, and it went from deathbed to platinum for everyone, sort of. The rest is history.
  • @MrTobhag
The preacher gave her his Bible she changed her way of life and raised her son and he became a preacher and read the Bible that was givin to his mom
  • @hollyp6395
Just goes to show you what can happen when you assume. We all know what that does. A tragedy turned her life around and the presumed "good ones" were the ones that were taken during the wreck leaving her as the lone survivor.

There are four passengers on a bus. A farmer, a teacher, a hooker and a preacher. The bus goes through a stop sign colliding with an 18-wheeler. The farmer, the teacher and the preacher are killed leaving three wooden crosses on the side of the highway. Before the preacher dies he witnesses to the hooker giving her a Bible. The hooker survives and she reads the Bible to her son who grows up to be a preacher. This is a song that tells us that no one is beyond the reach of God. As Christians we spread the Word not knowing how it may impact somebody’s life for Him. The simple gesture of handing a woman of ill repute a Bible led her to raising a son who would go on to leading others to Christ.

If you listen and not joke around.....because this is a serious song, by a country music Legend. The Teacher, Farmer and Preacher died. The Preacher left behind his bible and last words to the Hooker which caused her to change her life and raise her son up to be a Preacher in his own life. He changed her life with his death. Randy Travis is indeed a Country Music Legend, he doesn't sing anymore because he had a Massive Stroke in 2013 and has had numerous complications since. He can't communicate much. If you want to hear somone wiht the same Randy Travis vibe but a deeper incredible voice you should check out Josh Turner, "Long Black Train", "Firecracker", "Your Man", "Would You Go With Me", he's also covered Three Wooden Crosses.
  • You MUST react to Randy Travis's song...I Thought He Walked On Water and I Told You So!! Both are amazing!!
